scaling displacement by boring out the same block is more cost effective than adding more cylinders. this allows you to dump more R&D into block design and have an engine that is robust and can be used for anything.

american V8s were a cheat code for winning races, to the point where even nissan used them to win one of the first japanese grand prix before quickly switching to a in-house V12 so as to not trigger the japanese boomers.

straight 8 actually, but split into two blocks with the power-takeoff inbetween to limit torsional vibration of the crankshaft which would've stopped them from using roller-bearings for all shafts otherwise
It has DOHC, direct injection and just over 100HP/l, yielding 302 HP @ 7500 rpm.
290 km/h topspeed
Not bad for 1955

So they could get away with larger tolerances for the hood probably. That's a pretty large parts so it's gonna be hard to get it into 0.0x mm tolerance range and if the gap was just a mm or two any warp or other other inaccuracy in the whole thing or also the bumper would be dreadfully obvious. Continuing that line on the backside of the fender further adds to it being a deliberate design choice, it would look like the hood isn't properly closed otherwise.

*4 speaker stereo system*

I understand this now. My 70s era car could be optioned with just the 2x5.25-inch rear speakers or also with either 1x4-inch front speaker in the dash or 2x4-inch speakers also in the dash.

What is so wrong about car design going back to being elegant and streamlined and not fucking stupid MCU-obsessed soiboi design? Design should not be dictated to automaker by the lowest common denominator wears pajama pants to the grocery store consoomer whore. Maybe people aren't buying cars anymore because they're fucking D U M B because you keep designing them for D U M B people.

Back in the early 90's and early 2000's there was a Japanese tuner shop called Tommykaira, founded by Yoshikazu Tomita and Kikuo Kaira. They eventually became a manufacturer, and developed their own sports car, the Tommykaira ZZ.

The successor to that car is what I posted. The Tommykaira ZZ2. It's a mid engine supercar with an aluminum frame, a bored and tuned twin turbo rb26, 6 speed manual, and all wheel drive. Essentially a mid engine GT-R that weighed like 2200lbs.

Only 1 prototype was made, and the car never made it to full production. It's relatively famous because it was in Gran Turismo.

Thatโ€™s a pretty disrespectful and ignorant thing to say. If you donโ€™t care about something, thatโ€™s your choiceโ€”but dismissing it with hate or mockery says more about your attitude than the topic itself. Try showing a little respect.

respect is slowly earned and quickly lost. Making a tube chassis, fiberglass body, and using an R34 engine isn't something to respect considering they never made one.

I do care about cars. What I don't care about is some 1-off prototype that never moved under its own power but you're super excited because you drove it in Gran Tourismo 2 multiple decades ago. Its super obscure, its uninteresting, and not impressive for any metric. Its like you dumbasses cannot see the world for what it is because your very favorite work of art is at the top of the list. Ignore that a Rolls Royce Drophead. Its basically that Cadillac but not a GM product. I'm sure you'll piss your pants and say the front fascias are slightly different so its totally not the same thing despite RR being the definitive choice for that type of car.

If he wanted concept cars, it would've been a concept car thread. I assume the thread is about street legal cars (or trims) that have been sold to the public but are rare and or expensive as shit - that kind of unobtainium. Idc, just post whatever's clever, homedawgs.
