How do you catch an oversteering car with an automatic transmission?

Don't respond if you haven't done it many times intentionally.

I usually just let off the accelerator and ride the momentum.

What happens if you let the gas go. Do they have engine breaking?

People complain it smells bad, and then they realized you've locked the windows

>accidental (snap)oversteer
lightning fast countersteer, takes a fraction of a second
>intentional oversteer
idk it’s kind of natural. just do what the car asks for enjoy the slide

Is it bad to upshift during burnouts (automatic)? I always spin in 1st, upshift before it hits redline, spin in 2nd, upshift, spin 3rd, etc. When letting off, the car snaps to one side as it catches traction again. So I have to quickly juggle the steering a bit to catch it as it regains traction.

I later realized most burnout videos are people stabbing and letting off the gas then repeating. I've been staying on the gas and upshifting to get that same sound pattern of the engine revving up, then lower RPMs and revving up again and again.

Am I retarded? Have I been doing it r0ng this hole time?

I want to be able to smoothly roll out of burnouts without hitting the brakes (or jerking to the side as described above) and I think the only way to do that is to stay in a lower gear like 1 or 2 and let the tires naturally regain traction while still staying on the gas.

When in doubt, throttle out

Why are you asking a board full of people that have never raced in their life? Video games don't count.
