It costs ~$62,000 which puts it in line with the better sounding and faster Mustang, it was in contention with the Camaro, Challenger, Charger, nearly a Supra, and M2. All of which have more character, power, and charisma over the 400z. It should be $12-16k cheaper than it is to make it compelling over a Miata hard top, BRZ, and anything else within $5k and almost sporty. We used to have "tuner" cars there were cheap and a little sluggish, but with a few thousand over the first couple years of ownership you could make it pretty quick and fun.
Nissan put out a pretty car, but thats all it was.
