anon you're doing God's work
2001. i haven't removed the wheel at all. i bled the brakes last week and followed the service manual to a t. used a vac bleeder and never let the reservoir go empty so the only chance of air in the system is if the bleeder fit poorly on the bleed valve. rear reservoir was in bad shape from previous owner, totally empty, but the line is so long like you mentioned so i might be ok there. i removed the left caliper during the pcv bleed as specified

oh also i just tilted the bike back on the stand and rotated the wheel with my foot. with a decent kick down i get a good half rotation so it may not be as stuck as i thought. neighbor is at work so i can't do a proper, right round way spin with my hands till later.

Same anon here, when you vac'd it how bad was it? Is there a chance of debris in the line?
>>28536288
Your caliper might have an airbubble trapped in it, try turning it sideways in various directions to coax the air out as someone pumps.
>didn't remove front wheel
>rear res was really bad
That is where you need to be. The rear brake is the only linked brake in the system. Front is isolated. The rear brake when activated engages all 3 pistons in the rear AND activates 1 center piston on each of the front calipers to load the front suspension to not only increase braking capabilities (if traditional motorcycles braking power is 90% front brake and 10% rear with a chance of lockup then a vfr is 90% front and 20% rear brake capabilities with next to no chance to lock the rear wheel) but ALSO improve stability. The blackbird uses a near identical system so you can slow down from 180mph in a safe and stable way when using both front and rear brakes.

Tldr, your rear Res controls 2 of the 6 pistons in the front. Those 2 pistons controlled by the rear brake / uses rear res fluid can lock up to cause what is happening to your machine now.

Extremely helpful video to visualize the LBS https://youtu.be/KbXRzLioXdg?si=GohIF-L1l02UFS5S

If I had to put money on it, your connection to the PCV has air in it OR the line stemming FROM the PCV.
Or
One of the two lines feeding to and from the Delay valve. Once you do all this right you'll never need to stress this hard again

Actually this is the better video to demonstrate and elaborate the LBS. It's only complicated because it was introduced right BEFORE ABS was legally standard so it's a cool inbetween technology that works well it's just different from the norm. Great system though def worth keeping for a street machine (not so much for a track bike tho but it's a PITA to delink em')

It really is an unfortunate name, worst thing about the bike kek. "Tenere" isn't much better though, sounds like a gay nightclub.

Also because sport tourers have 2 up in mind, which is the polar opposite of an incels priorities.

My Shogun frame sliders wouldn't even thread into my bikes engine frame or whatever. Granted I bought them on sale so not much was lost but I thought they were supposed to be decently reputable. They felt 3d printed. Anyway how are the Graves Motorsports stuff?

Yes, that's why I want one. I took a look at an FJR1300 and thought "wow this really looks like a virgins bike"

The main noise you're hearing is indeed the gearbox (don't know whether it's actually straight cut or not, either way it'll be noisy), but at lower speeds you'll hear some of the noise from the chain drive. You also have tyre noise at higher speeds which is even greater with knobbies, but it's probably drowned out by the drivetrain. That said even with a direct drive motor and belt drive you'll still have some noise, you've got bearings spinning at high speeds and vibrations from teeth sliding against each other tens or hundreds of times a second. For the quietest electric bike you'd be looking at a hub motor.

no debris in the line but the fluid was old and dark
>Your caliper might have an airbubble trapped in it, try turning it sideways in various directions to coax the air out as someone pumps
So all I need to do is open the rear master cylinder as I rotate both front calipers and pump the rear brake. Can do. Bleeding it solo sucked, was working solo in my studio so any spill required 10x normal cleanup
