I'm obsessed with the idea of maximizing usable space compared to car size. What modern car has the most interior/usable space (truck beds count), compared to vehicle size?
I'd prefer regular sized cars, not tiny kei cars

Any bus has you covered. If you want a car that doesn't require a CDL to drive then a van is nearly as good.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean, but minivans are by far the roomiest "normal" vehicles on sale today. If commercial grade is acceptable, Ford Transits or Chevy Expresses are pretty much just an empty box on wheels.

Get the express. They've been in production longer than you have been alive and will be in production after you're dead. So parts are cheap and everywhere

car-wise you want a hatchback OP. as boring as the Prius is, it's a very efficient use of space.

8/10 I love this toaster like you wouldn't believe. The seats even fold down to make a bed.

it's electric though, so it's garbage.

I enjoy my collection of big blocks but there's nothing inherently "wrong" with electric. Its the way in which they've been introduced and mandated.

... and not at all spacious for it's footprint, it's more like a crossover on the inside

why is this thing like seventy thousand dollars with a 180 mile range? wasn’t the original designed for broke hippies to road trip in?

The original VW bus was $2200, so roughly half the price. All modern cars are ridiculously priced.

Some japanese forward control vans also made it to the US, but only in limited numbers
>modern
I know, but safety regs killed these sorts of vans a while ago.

This is probably the closest thing to a car-sized box on wheels you can get these days

Not only is it electric, it's built on a car platform, meaning shit packaging with significantly less usable space compared to something designed as a van

That's not the transporter. It's the new Multivan, a completely different minivan.

Promasters are really really big and very square, no nonsense space - but they are also very unreliable.
