It amazes me that car makers have a sender that usually works perfectly forever in the fuel tank, be able to add all kinds of useless ass shit like TPMS and whatever meme shit, but can't electronically tell us the level when warm or whatever.

General rule of thumb is it's about 1 liter / 1 quart between low and full, your manual will tell you the exact amount if your splitting hairs about it though. And it's fine to be a little over or under full

your owners manual should tell you. if it doesn't then you bought from a shit manufacturer.

If you're changing the oil, there's no oil in it. Look in the owner's manual and it will tell you how much oil the engine holds. Put that much in.

u dumb gorilla double nigger the space between those two dots always represents a quart/ normal sized bottle of oil. Never let it go below the last dot. Don't run it hard below half that.

Most crankcases usually have enough space that the oil can be overfilled 15% of the fill spec without an aeration problem, gonna fuck with your PCV a little though.

Don't turn it hard, you mean. 5 qt instead of 6 or 4 instead of 5 wont do shit to cause starvation unless you're max g turning.

Oil weights are also a hot point of contention. A lot of people are adamant that cars need to match the exact spec or else it's horrible for the engine.

That 0W-16 engine will work fine on 0W-20 and 0W-40. You'll maybe see a 0.2 mpg drop, if any. Hell, I've added strained bacon grease in my engine for that last quart I forgot to buy in a prior oil change and it's still chugging along at 178k miles. No big deal.

I'll reserve judgment for the high dollar engines but for your regular commuter appliance, motor oil is motor oil, go buy something that matches or exceeds spec.
Anonymous No.28545524 >>28545650
>>28545499
My owners manual has like 6 different oil weights listed on a chart with a temperature scale and a bunch of the oil weights overlap for most of the normal temperatures.
Like as long as you're not going full retard with a super thick or super thin oil it really doesn't matter.

Gotta love it when petrocucks become the biggest environmentalists when EVs are mentioned. It's like flicking a goy switch in their brains.
What's in that picture is a used cooking oil diesel generator, and charging a car with diesel is a lot more efficient than burning it in a car with a diesel engine.
Also shows that EVs are a lot more versatile since you can run it off any fuel source.

When you do your change and know it has the appropriate amount, let it settle then remove the stick and check where the level is supposed to be. I believe halfway between the dots, I never check because I don't drive a POS that burns oil.
