State driving behaviors
Is the Masshole meme true?

There’s not a single kino state east of the Mississippi.
Change my mind

There are a lot of dicks in the heavily populated areas but most of the state is pretty pleasant to drive though.
One thing i notice is all the out of state plates start going the speed limit as soon as they hit the welcome sign. The pigs there love to pick random cars going with the flow of traffic and ticketing them if they have ny or ct plates.

No. I visited back in the Spring and they are no worse or non-courteous than the rest of the country. Drive al little slower than I expected as well. Would visit again.

I've driven in most states and massholes aren't even in the top 5.
The worst drivers by far are LA drivers and it's not even close.
10 years ago I'd have said Texas drivers are some of the better ones, but they must've started putting something in the high fructose corn syrup because I was there a couple years ago and they're worse than massholes.

Every single part of the country thinks the drivers suck where they live
Every single person also thinks every other person is a bad driver except them
The pattern is that retards on the internet are insanely egoistic.

LA NPCs drive too fast which isn't bad in general

Bad driving is Florida where everyone takes 15 seconds to react to a green light

I think driving is a contact sport in California.

Texas drivers strike me as extremely dim-witted. They'll wait a full five seconds on a green light, don't react to road hazards until they run over it, and if the roads aren't dry, people die.

"Worst drivers" has a few different categories, from tailgaters to people who stop in the middle of neighborhoods to look at their phone.

Maryland has both.

Might as well rope D.C. in with Maryland.
Whenever I have to travel through Virginia, I always hope the load assignments I get will have me get on I-81 rather than I-95. Things are more peaceful; you get to drive through Shenandoah Valley and the trip through Maryland to Pennsylvania is only 30 minutes… unless you have to get on I-70 to get to PA.

Oh you can definitely do that. DC drivers are jokers, my only credit to them is the nature of the city makes you less likely to just stop in the middle of the road to text. Dropoffs, I'm fine with.

Driving through Virginia is a dream, it really might be a top 5 state for beauty/scenery. Shenandoah Valley is OP.

Yeah, your best chances of avoiding congestion on I-285 improves between 6 am-10 am and 2:30pm-9pm (avoid 285 during those times), but it’s not always guaranteed you’ll avoid traffic.

Areas with too large of populations for their infrastructure tend to drive too aggressively. Because they have too.

People im rural areas and places with more than adequate road bandwidth tend to drive more lazily. Because they can.

In both places visitors decry "X place has the worst drivers"

I actually watched an 18 wheeler do a 3 point turn on an interstate because they missed an exit in South Carolina. It's the only state I drive in where I actually fear for my life. North Carolina on the other hand is mostly fine so long as you stay away from culturally enriched areas. Southern Florida will forever deafen you to car horns, they just become meaningless after a week or so.

For grad school I drove from PA to Texas, then up through Canada and back into the US via Buffalo. The states I drove through were PA (obviously), West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, then up to Canada via Oklahoma again, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan. I had no problems with any of them other than maybe Texans speeding constantly. Canadians drive very, very well.

I went to a Metallica concert in East Rutherford, New Jersey two years ago and I wanted to blow every vehicle off the road. No turn signals, cutting in and out of traffic, people aggressively shoving themselves into your lane, giving the “thanks” wave and assuming that means they can merge at will. Awful drivers all around.
