How fucked am I? I just got caught doing 103mph by a cop and I panicked and just ran. I was fucking gone I don't even know how long he tried for but I was way fucking ahead by the time we he was able to pull out from his spot. It was pretty dark, my bike is blue and a pretty common model around where I live. Holy fuck, what are the odds he got my plate somehow? I am so fucking panicked right now. I got the bike in my garbage, in the corner covered up. I'm straight up debating trying to get a friend to spray paint it yellow or some shit.

If you
>Have your endorsement
>Wear gear other than a helmet
>Have insurance
Then you don't truly have the rebellious motorcycle spirit in you, and you ain't my nigga.
>>28550395Depending on the wind farm, some of them might be behind on maintenance, or they don't have enough battery capacity and/or grid demand to necessitate running all of them.
I hear you're not supposed to jump off a motorcycle with a running car because of the circuit differences between an alternator and a stator, but aren't they basically the same thing? Alternating current, except regulator and rectifier on the motorcycle is external, though that shouldn't make a difference, or so I would think.
You could jump it off with a non running car, though, right?
>>28550472I don't jump off my motorcycle because that would hurt

It's time to make the Moto-Diaperpill, /dbt/.
Had one gifted to me recently and it's changed my riding habits. Now,
>all pants are on the table when riding
>no fear of my cheeks being claimed by the pavement because I decided to wear something more breathable on a hot day
>makes longer rides more comfortable
A little annoying if you wear tight pants, but I don't. The hard plastic parts also require perfect position to ensure nothing is digging into your rearend, but once you positioned it all falls into place.
>>28550495You still would want pants that hold up against pavement and I'd rather just wear something I can change in and out of at that point.
>>28550488How else am I supposed to get into the Harley's back when he tried to take me for passing? I need to let him know who's crazier and has better health insurance.

Everyone just keeps telling me how shit they are and to buy a yamaha virago instead.
I've always wanted a WL/WLA, but they're ridiculously expensive now and getting parts for them might be nigh impossible nowadays.
>>28550199Anon, Iโm very sorry. R7 is a powerful baek. Its power and torque curves are identical to those of a gixxer 750. Itโs just as fast as 1100 Katana or NSR400 - some of the most iconic bikes out there. Some of the best riders in the world also crash sometimes.
Iโm glad youโre ok, you can always buy a new R7 or upgrade to R9.
>>28550551Most of the people giving you advice, if not all of them, have never ridden a Harley either.
>buy a Yamaha Virago insteadFucking gay.
>>28550444Literally shut the fuck up and stop self snitchin
You don't need to paint SHIT.
1st off. Get your buddy go have an alibi for you, you two were drinking watching the game of course.
2nd. You were never riding, your bike got jacked remember? Some dipshit thief had a joyride and dumped it back near your neighborhood.
3rd. You're so relieved your bike is back, it needed some mirrors and a new kickstand and unbent levers but it wasn't totalled.
Peel from this and gg, admit shit and gg, pretending to think owning up your hooning will get you less punishment and gg. Get your story straight.
>>28550385The Road Ween Special is actually one of the last Harleys not to get the recent refresh with the 117 motor and the Actually Good Dash. It's still got the 114, and the LCD under the analog speedo is the same dumb useless one from previous gen cruisers. The whole cruiser lineup got it in 2025 but I guess the Kang is on Touring Frame upgrade cycles.

>>28550580>the LCD under the analog speedo is the same dumb useless oneIt does what it needs to do, I don't know what your problem with it would be. How whizbang does your mileage counter need to be?
>>28550607Without knowing a thing about 2020s Harley, he might just be referring to information font size and/or LCD brightness. They really should have moved the clocks to the bars years ago and kept the tank dash for auxiliary information.
>>28550577also make sure your friend's story matches yours
>>28550607Fuel gauge is the big one.
>>28550625>They really should have moved the clocks to the bars years ago and kept the tank dash for auxiliary information.I like that the bars don't have clusters on them.
>>28550628>Fuel gauge is the big oneThere is a seperate fuel gauge to the left of the main instrument cluster. It has a ohysical needle and a light to see it. The fuel tank is 5.5 gallons, so you don't need to look at it often anyway, and if you forget a bright yellow light pops up on the main cluster when you have aprox 50 miles of gas left. If you need a range estimation you can cycle the LCD with a trigger button on the left handlebar control, which I almost never do. I mostly use my LCD for its clock, which is really low priority.
>>28550606if Honda is team red, and Yamaha is team blue, then what team is Suzuki?

At least coffe is better for your health than cigarettes
>>2855047212V DC is 12V DC, a car uses a 12V battery and so does a motorcycle. It'll be fine.
Maybe the Charing circuit for a car could damage a motorcycle battery, so I'd just do it with the car off. If a car battery can crank a car then it's more than capable of cranking a bike.
>>28550694It doesn't matter because you're taking the power off the battery, not straight from the alternator.
The battery works as a rectifier, both of them.
>>28550718No, you're not isolated from the charging system. The charge system, the cars battery and the motorcycle battery would all be connected at the same point.
>>28550720The charging a cars alternator does at idle is negligible at best in the grand scheme of things, it's not going to do anything to a bike that is being jump started.

I was about to say Honda should release production ready dakar baiks, but I think they already do. CRF450RL or the great RMZ450. But not the kinda bikes I want to be on, I want a bit more comfy wide seat, twins, because less vibes and stuff and a motor that doesn't need to be serviced for 10k km.
F450GS is looking better by the day. If EU didn't handicap them with A2, we would've had replacement for, IMO the mighty T7.

i am a big fan of the rally factory bikes like KTM makes them etc, but the problem with thos eis that on road is absolute shit, and travelling around on them on anything thats not offroad is shit.
i recently saw a video of a guy who had a husqvarna 450 enduro and changed it for a honda crf300 because he says riding on roads with the 450 is such a pain in the ass.
i personally am looking more and more into the tenere 700, even though i just bought a bike recently.

Not too small where you're reving the shit out of it on the motorway, not too big so you can use the whole engine just getting around, big front wheel to go over ruts in the road and the suspension travel to have it not kick your spine.
>but the yamaha troons are fixated on selling R7 and R9s. They axed the R6 and R1, they have to make up the money those bikes brought in somehow, it's just business.
>I'd like something a bit lighter weight. I think 450cc ADVs are going to be like the modern day super cub.I don't think so, they weigh as much as traditional middleweight at about 200kg fully fueled, but with half the horsepower so they can squeeze into that A2 market. The supercub was light, cheap and simple, current day A2 adventure bikes are really pushing the definition of cheap and that was that was their bike selling point.

keep at it lol
>>28551957Honestly bro i know this feel so hard. I think some guys like the challenge of situations like this but it just stresses me out and I hate getting ticks
Trails and shit hell yeah but Iโm not trying to do enduro like logs and boulders
>>285511722/10, made me reply
So what would it take to make you happy? Or is being mad what makes you happy?
>>28551970I had a lot of fun, got a great sense of accomplishment and felt like a learned a lot. However two things made it not so great
1. I was by myself
2. I was on the way to work
If I had of seriously injured myself or damaged the bike then I would have had a really bad day.
But if it was a planned day with my mates and on a bike I don't daily (I have a few other off-road only bikes) then there would have been zero stress. I've gone up harder things than that
>>28551964Could be because I run a higher tire pressure than normal but yeah Iโm definitely not hitting the throttle from a full lean, not that confident and the last thing I need right now is an accident lol
>>28551880Back in the good old days, you could get a 250cc with close to 50hp and it weigh only 140kgs.
In unrelated news I am now radicalized.
>>28551946>eurocucks>>28551957>did the thing>mistakes were made>won't do the thing againYou don't get better if you don't practice
>>28551970>challenge of situations like this>enduro like logs and bouldersbruh
Bumping a small log ain't enduro
Understand the technique, practice it a few times and it's nearly effortless
What percentage of motorcyclists are actually just a bunch of fuckin nerds?
https://youtube.com/shorts/MP2SkxdOICw
>>28552005Granted that's only a DRZ and the downed tree is maybe 10" at best, but it's just as easy to do on a much bigger bike on way bigger stuff
>>28552005I really need to get better at log hopping. I can hop gutters like it's nothing, but everytime I go over one that's bigger than 15cm or so I feel like I'm going to get thrown over the bars when the rear wheel hits it. No issues lifting the front over.
I went over one that was large enough to have the front and rear wheels well off the ground when I was sitting on it, but it felt like I was stuck half way. Rear wheel couldn't pull itself over
>>28552010and theres a difference between nerds with skill and these goobers
>>28552005No i know I just mean I donโt enjoy challenging off-road situations with obstacles and shit. I like riding easy trails and blasting berms and jumps just not the technical stuff. Itโs a different kind of ride not knocking it.
>>28551983Yeah I mostly ride trails solo and ride to/from as well so itโs definitely more anxiety than if you have a buddy or a trailer. Respect for hitting the log though Iโd have noped right out
>>28552013You don't loft and carry the front wheel OVER the obstacle ; that's what sends you ass over kettle. Lift the front wheel and ram it into the thing you're going over about 2/3s of the way up, put your weight into the pegs and throttle up.
>>28552020Not knowing how to react when coming across a washout or small tree at speed you didn't see until you're right up on it isn't fun

Well bros
Crf450rl is officially kill at 11,500~ km total
Just fueled up, went about 5 mins, engine flame out nd exhaust smokey might smell or be oil idk didnt really have time
Tried to reboot, cranks but struggles to pop and start
Tried the choke/clean out flooded engine and nothin
Shes right fucked buds
And i was like 15 mins to leduc for fuck sakes
>>28552110check the spork plug
>>28551691Why is there a call and disconnect buttons? Does it also pair to a phone as Bluetooth speaker?
>>28552110The 450RL never made sense to me. It should have been a proper dual sport with 5000-8000km oil change intervals, but instead it just seems like a worse off enduro for no gain. I always hear about fueling issues
>>28552110Have you checked the valves?
Some ragie cagie got pissed at me today for weaving through slow moving traffic near an intersection and got way up on my ass at the left have turn lane to make a point. I just cut more traffic and went into the opposing traffic to make the turn while everyone else was deciding to turn.
Don't smash mirrors guys, just keep moving. Don't even acknowledge their presence. Just be on your way.
>>28552172how dare you alleviate traffic.
>>28552175i've always been confused by the seething. the bike is not inconveniencing me in any way, i get more annoyed if they don't filter because they could get in front of at least ten cars
>>28552175It was worth it so I'm exporting the video right now. She even honked at me. Kek. Didn't even hear it. Stupid ragie cagie bitch.
>>28552172Good havens, how dare you help with traffic and improve productivity of the nation.
And I think cagies just hate seeing people enjoying life and having fun by finding a way out of the rat race. Think crab bucket theory.
>>28550390I had never actually ridden an HD before, but just rode a borrowed Road King around for the last couple days. I wouldnโt want one as my only bike, but it was honestly really enjoyable and I can understand the appeal.
>>28552210I'm sure it was the noise that scared her but whatever. Not my problem.
https://youtu.be/bKStkiTxPd4?
>>28552180>I have to wait in traffic so YOU do too! I'm running late to Mr. Goystein's meeting!! It's not FAAIR!Unironically the root of cagie rage when it comes to filtering. I can understand being pissed at lane splitting at like crazy speeds, but generally people get mad at bikers filtering because they are perceived as "cutting in line"
>>28552227Exactly. Except it's only cutting in line if you hold someone up. Imagine getting mad at someone skipping the line at Chipotle for an online order they placed. That's literally the cagie mentality.
I've argued at work in a friendly way with the used cars sales manager about it. He even used to ride but he hates seeing bikes filter because they're "cheating and breaking the rules". He's said he would never block or intervene, but he still hates it. Kek
>>28552227Why don't they just get a bike too then
>>28552230Cuz they're bitch made NPC's
>>28552231Then they should know their place
>>28552235One of the hallmarks of the NPC is getting outraged for no logical reason.
They'll sit there and complain about a bike going around them, but also complain that they have a bike sitting around them in traffic.
>>28552230Because they need a GMC Yukon XL to commute to their job's underground parking lot and to take their one child named brayden to soccer practice once a week, duh

I'm going moto camping this weekend and because I'm a cheap bastard I'm going to be using my old sleeping bag I've had for nearly 15 years. Current forecast says it will only get down to 2ยฐC over night so I should be okay, but to be safe I'm bringing a really warm fleece blanket and I'll put some bottles of hot water in my bag before I sleep.
>>28552289>Kando doesnt real cope

Thereโs another girl, peak cute blonde mechanic pixie dream girl who wears (likely performative) death metal tees and baggy camo pants while riding, she rides a suzu.

>>28552685Why would anyone want it
rather be a bike rn
https://streamable.com/u8tj3e
>>28552682Low test behavior
>>28552445Well, oem says 1000km for oil and filter
Ive also done this trip before last year and the only casualty then was a rear tire being flattened out in the middle and needing to replace sprockets and chain
This time around, i did probably double the grand total distance; about 10 days bush riding - and with like 60-70lbs overloaded rear suspension with gear n shit
Im honestly suprized in retrospect that the crf450rl survived this long abusing it the way that i did, this trip yesterday was around 800km highway, but grand total mileage for this trip has to be upwards of 3500km
I shoulsve died 4 times during picrel, those roada were brutal- let alone my bike kept chuckin even after that
Its all good though, at this point ive realized the crf450rl cant do ehat i want it to do without a support package like a truck or van or trailer with tools
Treat it how it was designed, not absurd stress tests to the moment of failure
Either that or daily it as a sumo and respect the intervals can work, that way not far from home base
>>28552768Also calculates the grand total for the shoomer extravaganza, and that plus detours and adventure roads probably puts me at or around 3,300-3500km grand total for this trip
And majority of those being highways, when i was highway sustained at 120-150kph and overloaded bloated baggages
So i mean if you take away all that, use it for what it was purpose built for fuck sakes, and stop tryna make it into a bagger daddy; this whole situations pretty exacerbated for what its worth- crf did a good job tolerating my burdensome ass, and the mountain passes and grades let alone the steep unforgiving trails were aloooot to put this fucker through
All my other inconveniences ans problems are minor compared to the current issue, save the crackhead incident which was potential for a write off before i fuckin found it
But anyways, i rode an enduro for almost 12,000km trouble free in essence, so im still quite happy as far as reliability factors into muh neglect and bad luck riders club evidently
Lesson learned / if i could go back in time what differently: i wouldve just bought a pigfat adventure bike like tennyfren or even pan america/super tenny if more highway and just accepted the lack of enduro dirt riding experiences and accepted its more highways
And also disregarding that scenario is also not learn the hardway and just compliment q dedicated travel package like truck or van with the crf as thats much more comf without the weight baggage and packing limitations on tiny baik
>>28552768>abusing it the way that i didhttps://www.youtube.com/shorts/NK3EvNsariY

>>28552836Long touring miles are exhausting
>>28552852now that just gay
>>28552685You need to have that much weight over the front end for riding them fast and cornering well. The pegs need to be that high for ground clearance.
