How fucked am I? I just got caught doing 103mph by a cop and I panicked and just ran. I was fucking gone I don't even know how long he tried for but I was way fucking ahead by the time we he was able to pull out from his spot. It was pretty dark, my bike is blue and a pretty common model around where I live. Holy fuck, what are the odds he got my plate somehow? I am so fucking panicked right now. I got the bike in my garbage, in the corner covered up. I'm straight up debating trying to get a friend to spray paint it yellow or some shit.

I hear you're not supposed to jump off a motorcycle with a running car because of the circuit differences between an alternator and a stator, but aren't they basically the same thing? Alternating current, except regulator and rectifier on the motorcycle is external, though that shouldn't make a difference, or so I would think.

You could jump it off with a non running car, though, right?

It's time to make the Moto-Diaperpill, /dbt/.
Had one gifted to me recently and it's changed my riding habits. Now,
>all pants are on the table when riding
>no fear of my cheeks being claimed by the pavement because I decided to wear something more breathable on a hot day
>makes longer rides more comfortable
A little annoying if you wear tight pants, but I don't. The hard plastic parts also require perfect position to ensure nothing is digging into your rearend, but once you positioned it all falls into place.

Anon, Iโ€™m very sorry. R7 is a powerful baek. Its power and torque curves are identical to those of a gixxer 750. Itโ€™s just as fast as 1100 Katana or NSR400 - some of the most iconic bikes out there. Some of the best riders in the world also crash sometimes.
Iโ€™m glad youโ€™re ok, you can always buy a new R7 or upgrade to R9.

You don't need to paint SHIT.
1st off. Get your buddy go have an alibi for you, you two were drinking watching the game of course.
2nd. You were never riding, your bike got jacked remember? Some dipshit thief had a joyride and dumped it back near your neighborhood.
3rd. You're so relieved your bike is back, it needed some mirrors and a new kickstand and unbent levers but it wasn't totalled.

Peel from this and gg, admit shit and gg, pretending to think owning up your hooning will get you less punishment and gg. Get your story straight.

The Road Ween Special is actually one of the last Harleys not to get the recent refresh with the 117 motor and the Actually Good Dash. It's still got the 114, and the LCD under the analog speedo is the same dumb useless one from previous gen cruisers. The whole cruiser lineup got it in 2025 but I guess the Kang is on Touring Frame upgrade cycles.

I like that the bars don't have clusters on them.
>>28550628
>Fuel gauge is the big one
There is a seperate fuel gauge to the left of the main instrument cluster. It has a ohysical needle and a light to see it. The fuel tank is 5.5 gallons, so you don't need to look at it often anyway, and if you forget a bright yellow light pops up on the main cluster when you have aprox 50 miles of gas left. If you need a range estimation you can cycle the LCD with a trigger button on the left handlebar control, which I almost never do. I mostly use my LCD for its clock, which is really low priority.

12V DC is 12V DC, a car uses a 12V battery and so does a motorcycle. It'll be fine.
Maybe the Charing circuit for a car could damage a motorcycle battery, so I'd just do it with the car off. If a car battery can crank a car then it's more than capable of cranking a bike.

because the guys who tested the tire rode it at 2 bars, 2 bars are also recommended in the manual, and i thought 0.1 less might be nice

It's not a stock bike, the owner installed a new can on the thing.
So assuming 6k out the door, not taxes or dealer fees.
The guy is okay with starting price of 5k ( even with money invested in mods ) before you negotiate it down when time comes to buy.

Something smells and I don't trust it.

I actually used these for a time but even with a ton of foam-sheets glued to the luggage rack side the rattling was very very loud. It definitely gets some looks but Iโ€™m looking for something a bit more efficient for day-to-day (i.e holding shit for work and a lunch and maybe some extra tools)
I still use the ammo cans for hunting and camping though because they can hold a ton of kit and a little badger folds up nicely in them

I was about to say Honda should release production ready dakar baiks, but I think they already do. CRF450RL or the great RMZ450. But not the kinda bikes I want to be on, I want a bit more comfy wide seat, twins, because less vibes and stuff and a motor that doesn't need to be serviced for 10k km.

F450GS is looking better by the day. If EU didn't handicap them with A2, we would've had replacement for, IMO the mighty T7.

i am a big fan of the rally factory bikes like KTM makes them etc, but the problem with thos eis that on road is absolute shit, and travelling around on them on anything thats not offroad is shit.
i recently saw a video of a guy who had a husqvarna 450 enduro and changed it for a honda crf300 because he says riding on roads with the 450 is such a pain in the ass.

i personally am looking more and more into the tenere 700, even though i just bought a bike recently.

I was kind of hype for the 450gs too, but I don't think I'll be getting another adv when I trade my 390 in. I did see one at the stealership when I went to test ride a striple, though, and I was pleasently surprised to see the size and ergos of it compared to the other GS's

it has to be, my ears are ringing after riding sometimes... The only time i can prevent this is when i use double ear protection (+all of the things i mentioned). Regular plugs + moldable plugs on top of it. its nuts
It might be turbulence as >>28551400

take a scarf and tra to wear it very close to the helmet, so it shuts the open parts under the helmet completely, then try riding a bit
if it helps you can get one of those donut scarfs

>Yeah, by T7 I mean the tenere 700. I think its one of the best bikes around,
It is, it sells itself, I see them all the time in europe I see one in my garage every day, they're perfect for our poorly maintained curved mountain roads. Not too small where you're reving the shit out of it on the motorway, not too big so you can use the whole engine just getting around, big front wheel to go over ruts in the road and the suspension travel to have it not kick your spine.
>but the yamaha troons are fixated on selling R7 and R9s.
They axed the R6 and R1, they have to make up the money those bikes brought in somehow, it's just business.
>I'd like something a bit lighter weight. I think 450cc ADVs are going to be like the modern day super cub.
I don't think so, they weigh as much as traditional middleweight at about 200kg fully fueled, but with half the horsepower so they can squeeze into that A2 market. The supercub was light, cheap and simple, current day A2 adventure bikes are really pushing the definition of cheap and that was that was their bike selling point.

to add to what the other anons said - my 30+ year old Honda Transalp still has half of its parts in stock as new, another 25% as aftermarket 3rd party replacement parts and whatever is not available you can find used online, all over Europe. Mind you the bike doesn't try to fall apart in the first place.

Was in a garage the other week to get a new tyre and overhead the mechanic refusing service on some dudes broken down chinese hardware store scooter, saying there is not a single shop in the city ( >1 million people) that has parts or does work on the thing.

Might change in the future, but think about it man.

Only use non-running cars because the feeble wittle bike regulator may attempt to regulate the current supplied by the cars charging system. There is no reason to run the car since if the bike doesn't promptly crank further troubleshooting is required.

12 volts is the nominal voltage but any battery sitting at 12volts is discharged. Resting voltage is determined by the battery not the motorcycle and given the variety of modern batteries it is unwise to assume anything so I don't.

>>28550718
>The battery works as a rectifier, both of them.

No, hence the discrete rectifier/regulators in both charging systems. Never make a technical assertion you could not prove in a court of law.

>>28550728
Depends on the car or truck, but reasons do not exist to run the charging vehicle in the first place

1. I was by myself
2. I was on the way to work
If I had of seriously injured myself or damaged the bike then I would have had a really bad day.
But if it was a planned day with my mates and on a bike I don't daily (I have a few other off-road only bikes) then there would have been zero stress. I've gone up harder things than that

Some ragie cagie got pissed at me today for weaving through slow moving traffic near an intersection and got way up on my ass at the left have turn lane to make a point. I just cut more traffic and went into the opposing traffic to make the turn while everyone else was deciding to turn.

Don't smash mirrors guys, just keep moving. Don't even acknowledge their presence. Just be on your way.

Unironically the root of cagie rage when it comes to filtering. I can understand being pissed at lane splitting at like crazy speeds, but generally people get mad at bikers filtering because they are perceived as "cutting in line"

Exactly. Except it's only cutting in line if you hold someone up. Imagine getting mad at someone skipping the line at Chipotle for an online order they placed. That's literally the cagie mentality.
I've argued at work in a friendly way with the used cars sales manager about it. He even used to ride but he hates seeing bikes filter because they're "cheating and breaking the rules". He's said he would never block or intervene, but he still hates it. Kek

Well, oem says 1000km for oil and filter
Ive also done this trip before last year and the only casualty then was a rear tire being flattened out in the middle and needing to replace sprockets and chain
This time around, i did probably double the grand total distance; about 10 days bush riding - and with like 60-70lbs overloaded rear suspension with gear n shit
Im honestly suprized in retrospect that the crf450rl survived this long abusing it the way that i did, this trip yesterday was around 800km highway, but grand total mileage for this trip has to be upwards of 3500km
I shoulsve died 4 times during picrel, those roada were brutal- let alone my bike kept chuckin even after that
Its all good though, at this point ive realized the crf450rl cant do ehat i want it to do without a support package like a truck or van or trailer with tools
Treat it how it was designed, not absurd stress tests to the moment of failure
Either that or daily it as a sumo and respect the intervals can work, that way not far from home base

Also calculates the grand total for the shoomer extravaganza, and that plus detours and adventure roads probably puts me at or around 3,300-3500km grand total for this trip
And majority of those being highways, when i was highway sustained at 120-150kph and overloaded bloated baggages

So i mean if you take away all that, use it for what it was purpose built for fuck sakes, and stop tryna make it into a bagger daddy; this whole situations pretty exacerbated for what its worth- crf did a good job tolerating my burdensome ass, and the mountain passes and grades let alone the steep unforgiving trails were aloooot to put this fucker through

All my other inconveniences ans problems are minor compared to the current issue, save the crackhead incident which was potential for a write off before i fuckin found it
But anyways, i rode an enduro for almost 12,000km trouble free in essence, so im still quite happy as far as reliability factors into muh neglect and bad luck riders club evidently
Lesson learned / if i could go back in time what differently: i wouldve just bought a pigfat adventure bike like tennyfren or even pan america/super tenny if more highway and just accepted the lack of enduro dirt riding experiences and accepted its more highways
And also disregarding that scenario is also not learn the hardway and just compliment q dedicated travel package like truck or van with the crf as thats much more comf without the weight baggage and packing limitations on tiny baik

You need to have that much weight over the front end for riding them fast and cornering well. The pegs need to be that high for ground clearance.

depends on the bike.
XR650? Take a look at the maintenance intervals page and do your best to vaguely remember it.
R1300GS?
You're going to have to take notes, possibly organize it all into a spreadsheet.

I found a CB650F close to my island and I'm planning to go this saturday to test it. The owner sent me a video today but is it just me or it does a weird sound when he starts the engine?

He told me he didn't use the bike for 3 weeks and before the video he took it for a ride.

My man, we wouldn't have the Nicean Creed if that were the case. A hell of a lot of people died over this dogmatic minefield.
