Yep. make sure its not just water vapor though.

When humid and cold my car makes like a fogger.
No oil in that, it's all steam.

If it is a damaged head gasket , repair it QUICKLY.

How can you see if smoke is coming out from the exhaust of your car?

Look at it

How? You're in the driver's seat when the car is running which is when smoke would come out.

If you sit inside and see clouds behind your car then it is probably your car making them.
When I hear Pshhh Pshhh then it is probably me.

Engage the parking brake and get out

White smoke is a sign of water in the exhaust. Could be condensation from short trips if it goes away quickly, but if it's a consistent thing then there's a good chance you got coolant getting into the cylinders somehow.
Basically it could be anything from a total nothingburger to a fucked headgasket.

If it happens just as the car starts in chilly weather, could just be a little water vapor that's condensed into the tailpipe.
If it happens after the engine's warmed up and gets worse from there, your gasket is probably fucked.

Dude should start to look for mayo at that point.

So if it doesn't happen while idling you're good?

put a camera behind and rev the car

Oh yeah, definitely pull the oil filler cap and look in there.

Also OP, if you can get your hands on a borescope, pull the sparkplugs and check the pistons. Normally you'd expect to see a bit of carbon/grime on there in an older car, but water basically steam cleans the pistons so if one is suspiciously clean there's a good chance you've got a blown headgasket leaking into that cylinder.

OP, open the radiator cap when the car is completely cold and shine a light in there.
If it looks homogenous and a normal coolant color, it probably isn't the head gasket. If it looks brown, slurry, and goopy your gasket is fucked.

Check the oil dipstick for the forbidden milkshake.
Check the radiator for the forbidden peanut butter.
Hopefully it's just a head gasket, but if it's been going on for a while the engine castings could be warped, in which case, yeah. It's borked.

It's just condensation, don't worry about it.
