I think the DOT and NHTSA require all wheels to have fenders, its how the plymouth prowler got away with its relatively open suspension with little pieces of metal over the tires. Something that just isn't done outside of track day cars anymore.

The fuck did they even do to make it "performance"? Put decent wheels, tires, and suspension on it and delete a lot of weight? Theres no way a subtle body kit and an ebay wing is doing anything meaningful.

They increased the power sent to the motors from the battery. It now completes a half lap before running out of power instead of the three quarter lap it could before.

M3 performance are actually stupid fast for autocross when setup correctly.
You just can't beat the low speed acceleration of a EV.
Never seen one at the track though.

Yeah because I’d rather take a more fun car instead.

More like your Model 3 would overheat after 10min and have 1/2 power after lap 5.

I don't think many tracks have fast chargers which you'd need to get a decent days worth of sessions in. Also a bunch of tracks don't allow EVs outright because of the fire risk.
