Once in a billion years all planets come in one perfect line. That's when France makes a good car. It happened when A110 was made and a billion years earlier when Citroen DS was made.

It's a driver's car, that isn't about muh laptimes it's about muh fun and engagement. It's retarded to put a DSG in anything that isn't a supercar because lap times don't matter unless you're trying to set records.

I don't know what you expect?
Do you expect the comforts of a 1800kg GT car at 900kg doing 3.8 seconds 0-60 on a manual gearbox with a toyota 1.8lt. engine?

I know the weird shit that lotus has, but outside from some lotus specific shit, the drivertrain is toyota. you buy cellica or corolla parts.
have fun servicing that dual clutch, though.
>>28557572
I an not going to bench-race, only because they push the car around the burgering with a laggier turbo, that's why it pushed 300km/h as top speed.
piggier, fattier, laggier.

the f1's msrp in 1998 in 2025 money is $2m
this means that you can build the a carbon fibre mono-cock chassis and then spare some kg for the air-con
according to the elise documentary, elise's chassis was about £10k back in 2000 before they ramped up the production with the s2.
anyway, apples to oranges.

When we are talking about 'driving experience', it's a problem when it ruins the experience.
I'm not calling the Elise a bad car by the way. It's better than a lot of other cars. But the Alpine is better still, and that's one reason why. It's your favorite car guy's favorite car.

But why would you? It's a thoroughly impractical car for dailying:
>2 seats, no cargo space
>terrible parts availability
>you can probably count on one hand the number of official dealerships in your country
>not the kind of car you want to park in a parking lot or out in public
It's literally a toy car for hitting the twisties in the weekends or track days, nothing more.

Prove it, with laptimes comparing DSG vs Manual transmission cars
>pro-tip: you can't

DSG weighs more, overheats, and shifts more often, eating away at that shift speed advantage.

The ONLY thing a lotus does better is have a manual transmission.

there’s all kinds of cars on that site. assuming it’s the A110. you need the A110 S or GT for the 300hp engine. The base A110 is just 250hp

Possibly not, due to packaging constraints.
They designed the car to have only a DSG, so there may not be enough room for that specific manual gearbox shape, a clutch assembly, hydraulic system, selector linkage etc..
I assume Renault wanted to cut costs (and weight) while going for broad appeal.
