I think the new Kia Tasman would sell in America.
It's too bad they can't make an suv-ized 4runner competitor version with an enclosed rear cab. It just needs to be slightly longer and more practical than the Bronco - which looks like it can't hold very much stuff.

I don't think either would do well and they know it. The American truck market is impenetrable and the midsize truck segment is tiny. Toyota made a deal with the devil and that's really the only way to explain the success of the Tacoma and 4Runner. No one can compete with them and it's not worth even trying.

not really, they just have protective tariffs to keep it uncompetitive
and Toyota rules the compact truck market
> No one can compete with them
no one has tried to build a compact ladder frame pickup or suv and sell it in America since Suzuki

They would cost the same as stuff like the Ram or F150. Kia is too much of a pussy to make a v8.
What about if they took the Bronco and added a tray.

I don't hate how it looks, if anything I kind of like it, certainly as far as new cars go. But is 2.2 really enough? I drive an old Outback, I'm used to having to pay for fuel. Fucking gay regulations.

They were still making the Mohave (2009 Borrego) until last year or so, body on frame and all. It'd do well now as it is.
Anonymous No.28559015 [Report] >>28559067

yeah but that's probably based on an older platform, I assume Tasman is something newer - and could also be similarly SUV-ized without much effort.

Why should they need to be fixed? It's like most hyundai and kia cars have some sort of defect that needs to get fixed or it can set itself on fire just sitting there. Why are those cars so horrible to begin with? Is it just the best South Korea can do?

I think they actually meant to use the Telluride to replace the niche the Mohave filled, for now at least, but obviously it doesn't really fit being more a crossover.
It'd be a dumb move to not to be brewing up an SUV equivalent, even the Australian market they designed it towards would buy them.

>a less shitty car than a toyota even with the mistakes
What is the ratio of Toyota models that have a non collision fire recall? Because hyundai and kia have a fuckton. Also, what sort of mileage does a toyota get compared to hyundai and kia barely hitting the first 100k miles? Hyundai and kia can't even compare to a buick and you're throwing out names like toyota.
Anonymous No.28559086 [Report] >>28559102

toyota is a much more basic car - all you have to is take the kia/hoondai for repairs when you get told to
its not like all of them exploded or something

>>28559067
Is the new Telluride on a new platform or the same one as the Carnival uses?
They need a ladder frame based SUV - is kinda my point.

>It'd be a dumb move to not to be brewing up an SUV equivalent
the Ford Everest (ford ranger suv) sells like hotcakes in Australia - very popular

I agree with you about the old ones but I also know things change over time. The US use to make the best stuff and jap stuff was considered junk then they got good and is know its known for the best quality but just recently that has started to shift with Toyota screwing the pooch. Every year, last years was crap but this year is good. Totally changed themselves around. This year they are a good car choice.
It was pushed hard here when the santa cruz was soon to be released. And the year after that. Oh, and every year since. They should make it their motto "We swear we got it right this time, trust us again!"

And it's still overpriced garbage. Other cars last more than twice as long but kia still charges only slightly less than an actual, real car.
