Are American muscle cars worth getting over the Jap cars?
for a fun weekend drive

Depends what specific cars you're comparing, and what you consider fun.

and also wher you live. look at a street map of the muscle cars birthplace, detroit. you will instantly understand why they built cars for straight line acceleration. if you live somewhere with mountains and lots of curves you probably want to look at something that focuses more on handling and less on raw power.

so definitely not a car that has shitty body roll and doesn't hold the road very well around corners, and more a car that feels planted and stable around corners, like a camaro.

>don't look at how a car actually performs
>look at the streets of a city where a car was built which tells you nothing about the kinds of tracks it was developed on
top gear levels of retardation.

Corvette is always the answer.

>shitty body roll
Body roll teaches you how to be a better driver. That's the point of an entry level sports car.

it also gives you feedback as to when the rear end is about to break loose.

Don't pay attention to spec sheet nigger, just go and test drive anything you're interested in. There's no real reason not to, and it will give you the best idea on what you enjoy and value in a car.

if you value instagram photos, get a GR86 or something. if you value driving, get something that was actually precision engineered for it.

Randy made the choice out of having driven many cars.

If you're buying new: the new Mustangs are shitty.
If you're buying used: don't buy used American muscle unless it's from some uptight garage queen boomer guy. Otherwise it's going to be beat to shit by some lowlife and probably not well-maintained.

Jap cars are just too weak. Why the fuck are those Japs allergic to power? Don't they understand, here in America, you need to sell 500HP for $30,000. NO EXCUSES

you're going to have a much easier time finding a used pony car in well kept condition which is owned by much older people on average. than a used japanese sports car, which is owned by much younger more wreckless people on average.

Just go test drive one and come to your own conclusion. And as someone that almost bought an ND, yes even a regular SS handles better. Its not the fucking 90s anymore, properly specced Mustangs and Camaros can either match or beat the handling of the GR86/Miata in all but the tightest courses. Challenger is a fat fuck straight line performer and for that its based in its own right.
