The fact is that lots of modern American cars are also ugly, full of pozzed technology, and have only acceptable quality at best. There's a real open market which Chinese manufacturers could be filling. Mechanical controls and manual transmissions for example. Instead they copy every bad trend in modern design like "smart" technology, infotainment systems, or huge vehicle size and make it even uglier
