Anonymous No.28561575

if you dont care about potentially damaging the current vesa mount, you can try drilling with a 3-4mm bigger bore, so you have some space to move the screens before fixating the bolts. Will require 8 washers of appropriate size though.
might be worth trying before ordering a new mount

the biggest issue is there is no easy way to have a race
like it's not assetto corsa it's like garrys mod, and the multiplayer is a 3rd party mod so it's not like it's optimized or anything
the physics and beammp netcode are ok enough for normal racing like up to gt3s and i've seen people do f3 racing in it, but f1 and lmps probably not currently possible. mp has lots of desyncs the faster you go.

That doesn't explain the MASSIVE gaps in power between you and bosses. I did the "follow rivals to a junction/curve" trick but even that wasn't a guaranteed success because the moment the road opened up, I'd get overtaken.
Also, I was always a tunelet. When GTVault was open I saved grip setups but only for the cars I'd use (Bugeye Impreza/R34/FD), which was my greatest mistake with that site.
>>28564894
I use an old GameFAQs guide (https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps2/919121-tokyo-xtreme-racer-3/faqs/28975) and tune the ratios accordingly. I only open the final drive in the second half of the game. For engine swaps into classic cars, I use the final drives listed for the car, not the engine swap. I also intentionally did the faster sections first so the bosses like Jintei or God's Estuary get stuck in the curves.

take edf for example, the graphics are terrible, the animations are stupid, the enemies are silly, the voice acting is retarded, the game is literally full of bugs and physics glitches, but if you really get "into it" and play it like you're in an anime instead of a game it's absolute cinema beyond words

that reads like a lot of excuses for bad programming. There's nothing wrong with players losing races sometimes so long as they're not actively punished for it (TXR forcing you to gamble for cars/parts, Gran Turismo locking career progress behind gold trophies). indeed, part of the player immersion is the thrill of pulling off a hard-fought win. if you're dogwalking the competition every time you just ticking checkboxes to get to the end of the game ASAP. That's not fun. Imagine if you could blitz to the end of Mario without dying on your first attempt.

ok well if you're going to "lose sometimes" then you're going to get rubber banded
if you want a racing game to be fair and accurate to real life then a human will always win, you can't program bravery or technique, just imitate it. whenever the ai tries to employ the same tactics as players like ramming, cutting the track, shooting tiny gaps and being aggressive, people like you can't handle it and demand it be turned down.
then it gets turned down to be less aggressive and now it's too easy.
the issue i think is that people like you think you're good at racing games but if you experienced real "fair" racing game difficulty you'd hate it. if an ai in gt or forza raced you like people race it you'd put your console thru a wall.

idk if it works anymore since the update but the ai performance boost and difficulty mod to make it feel more like wmmt is kino and the ai actually is more fun with the silly rubberbanding, makes it seem like they're running nos.

i literally played that game growing up

you're retarded because again you think you're good at racing games but really you're not
gp2's ai is assisted by the fact that
>all the cars are roughly the same performance level
>actual gp2 player skill level is several leagues below a real f1 driver
>the tracks are real circuits designed for racing
>there is no traffic

whiplash has fair non-rubberband ai
>tracks designed for and against each car's strength and weakness
>ai is just as aggressive as an actual player would be if not moreso
>the traffic car is bob

meanwhile txr has ai that needs to rubberband
>the races are only a few minutes long
>it is not supposed to ram or wallride, only block
>there are few sharp corners to gain time because the track is a model of a real life highway, not designed to be raced on
>there is traffic that needs to be maneuvered around

it's a whole different ballgame from circuit racing
making a racing game ai is clearly pretty tough or else it would be a solved problem, txr does a fine job when its tuned appropriately

>"hurr just throw more cycles and ram at it a hurrp durpp durr" t. executive project lead
you can't just throw more resources at it because you also have to simulate the car, and usually more than one ai, and render.
like the problem primarily is that games are not real life, the ai's calculations have to occur within a limited time per frame and in order with other operations, meaning the faster you go the less time there actually is to perform calculations and exponentially more mistakes they make. even if the ai logic is decoupled from frame time or you have a very fast computer and super high fps they're still "seeing" in frames, they're not people and they can never race like people because they don't see or drive like a human does at all. it's just foolish to expect it. even Sophy doesn't drive like a human. people drive unpredictably and improve their lines over time, and the only game i've very seen do that is RF1.

txr's gameplay style is intentionally old-school, it doesn't need Sophy or whatever, it would just be a waste of time because bad players like you would just cry about how hard it is and good players would dump her stupid ass into a wall and win anyway

I don't think it's a matter of effort so much as focus, at least post-GT Sport.
Polyphony is a lot bigger nowadays than they were in the 90's so a lot of the work that Kaz had to break his back working on back then is probably delegated to entire dev/design teams now, that's just how successful studios end up working over time.
Those teams probably aren't that lazy either since I think GT7's faithfulness in rendering all the intricacies of the cars, tracks, etc. indicate that there's clearly a lot of motivation at least in those departments to actually try and make something special.
I think the real crux of the issue is, as the image >>28560753 posted sorta implies, that Kaz is now in love with and perpetually wanks off the e-sports ecosystem he ended up building with Sport, and that has informed a lot of the dogshit design decisions (non-existent singleplayer, og track remakes, aversion to licensing up-to-date real life race cars, so on and so forth) of GT7.

As I now know how my September is and there should be enough time to sort out our server business, the date for the Mille Miglia Challenge is now set for Satrurday, September 20th! If this date is really poor for everyone or the server is still bullshitting, this may be moved to the 27th. Not high likelihood of that though.

Go sign up on the doc, open the link to the wiki and read the rules. If you're interested in what sort of speed of car you needs to do, here are the benchmark times based on Trento Bondone and 37 different tested cars from the period:

Average Pace: 14 min 15 sec - Mille Miglia completion time ~1h 55 min

Really Slow Pace: 20 min 0 sec - Mille Miglia completion time ~2h 40 min

Slow Pace: 15 min 30 sec - Mille Miglia completion time ~2h 10 min

Nope, its Toyota's homologation car for their GT3 effort since the RCF is fat and old. Rookie Racing was using their AMG GT3 Evo as a test mule for this which explains the proportions. Both the camouflaged race and road car were driven in Goodwood and the GT3 is already in the testing phase at multiple tracks.

The physics feels somehow oddly unnatural, even on tarmac (I much prefer AC for tarmac for the physics and FFB, but since there is no leaderboards I get unmotivated, its kinda boring just trying to beat my own time with no idea of what global times would be). I'll insist on RBR for a few weeks, but if I can't get into it I'll just unninstall again, I guess. EA's WRC has terrible physics and FFB, the cars don't gradually lose traction and you can't get a grasp of it properly through the FFB. DR2.0 is pretty good on gravel but has terrible tarmac physics (and I'm kinda tired of the same few stages I always play, New Zealand, Greece, Argentina)

no they didn't. you can't make an ac car "have" arcade physics, it requires a massive fuckload of LUA work.
to this date the only person to ever discover and utilize ac arcade physics is our own tunari. all the other ac modders do is throw on drift tires copypasted from something else.

cars are not hard to drive by the way, you don't need to make anything less realistic or turn on arcade physics to do this.

I think I'm starting to understand my dislike for RBR. When you powerslide on a dirt road the car will not slow down realistically, it will slide like a frictionless blob on ice, like there is no real weight to the car or tire grip at all. Its like they made a generally realistic physics engine...and then tuned it a couple sliders too high because harder = more realistic in their minds. I could adapt, of course. Maybe I'll start having fun once it really clicks, but I'm not sure its worth it...

The main problem is that people use "simcade" as an insult to mean "anything that isn't as needlessly difficult as iRenting and its garbage tire model," instead of actually determining if the game's intention is to be a simulation or not. It would be more honest to just call things a "bad simulation" but then you wouldn't get to feel like part of an elite group of dadracers.

my problem is fucking retards slide off the road and spin out in any game and then go "ooooh the game is TOO HARD" when they actually have the setup menu right there to see what is going on and correct it.
a car in a game is not an immutable object, all the feel comes from the alignment which may or may not be right for you personally out of the box since obviously you didn't make the game.

that's why it's important to learn vehicle dynamics so you can understand why a particular car in a game handles like poop and fix it using the provided utilities rather than throwing the playstation controller in a huff and coming online to complain to everyone that the simmy wimmy hurt your litle baby feefees cause it didn't let you make a 90 degree turn at 200 mph.
