Got into a random BYD last month and I gotta say chinks are really good at making things look expensive.
Maintenance must be hell on these things, with parts being hard/expensive to import, but that's common to both of these automakers.

BYD still sells like garbage in my corner of Yurop, and Tesla EVs have mostly been replaced by Renault-Nissan and VW/Skoda after Musk made a total fool of himself.
I knew the modern bongoids had no taste in any matters whatsoever, but if they're actually buying Chinese over other brands, my opinion of them may yet reach new lows.

If the outrage of polity's spokesmen really had an affect on people's decisions the world wouldn't he what it is.

The elephant in the room is that no one is buying any of these cars with their own money. It’s all fleet sales. Fleet managers, under the current government, are going for the cheapest option. Tesla Model 3 Performance and the Porsche Taycans were on my company car list two years ago. This year it’s BYD or MG. There’s no money left here for anything
