I am quite big into audio which is why I don't understand it. Your car is not a good place to enjoy good sound. I do understand>>28563136, that is more or less the only reason to do it. I'm not against some tasteful speaker upgrades to make the quality better for cabin use, but these big subwoofer mods are trashy and sound like shit.

small speakers wear out quickly and do not perform well.
however given that part of the objective is immersion / isolation, going louder is not the best way to go about it.
gotta have a luxobarge with low rolling noise tires to enjoy low volume speakers.

but then again I dont want that all the time, so use different high pass filters depending on the audio source.
.eg 400 hz so sound does not travel far, 180 hz to cut out buzz from audio books / talk back radio, 120 hz if I dont like the composition.
or just use the sub woofer remote volume control if I'm really lazy
