Anyone else Hate these Boomer Pro-Touring builds?
damn near all muscle cars I see now are "Pro-Touring"
90% of them are too afraid to do anything beyond autocross.
And they suck ass at autocross.
The 10% that do track days drive 30 seconds off the pace and slow everyone down.
I drove a $200,000 SpeedTech built 1967 Camaro and it handled like absolute dog shit.

I'm starting to think all these parts are just boomer bait and they actually suck.

nah

You can spend six figures on a full suspension geometry rework, brakes, etc, but if the tires, alignment, spring rates, and compression/rebound dampening suck, the car isn't going to handle well.

No. Other than the ugly nigger wheels, pro touring is immensely based
>retain classic looks and perform like a modern
anyone who hates them is either a boomer purist faglord or a seething poorfag

>how dare people modify cars to be close to the classes the cars raced in
These cars were big in trans am and imsa, Id prefer those considering the other alternative is more drag builds

it's cool but a lot of it is boomers larping, yeah. what you actually want is touring car masters

I've driven classic race cars before.
Drove a 69 Camaro and a 70 Chevelle that raced back in the 70s.
And a 1980 SCCA AS Fox body.

Those cars are night and day different than these dumb Boomer pro touring nonsense.
Those older cars on modern track tires absolutely slap the shit out of these newer builds as far as lap times go.
It's not even close.

ok? I don't give a fuck, why did you reply to me with this? I'd much rather own a STREETABLE restomod pro touring car minus the negroid wheels, than a genuine trans am car or some shit like that

pretty sure most boomer bodystyle cars would immensely benifit from 245+ width wheels and maybe traction bars and a panhard to keep the axle in check, I don't understand how this turns into I NEED A 10K CONVERSION KIT AND SWAP OUT THE ENTIRE CAR TO BE COMPETETIVE CONEFAGGING AGAINST HONDAS

I only hate them because I can't afford one and don't want to go into crazy debt for a weekend toy. They're certainly better than some boomer declaring they paid a shop $100k to do a frame-off restoration tribute of their favorite 1969 Camaro with period correct lead paint and whatever other autistic details nobody cares about.
Anonymous No.28565490
i don't necessarily hate them but i do wish people would stop chopping up perfectly good classic cars.

>STREETABLE
Ok Nigger, go be a retarded somewhere that's not my local track.

All these Boomer pro touring cars are typically running 315s or 335 width tires.
The original race cars are running slicks that are about 12 in wide. So 295mm or so but with BIG side walls.

God I miss side wall
