The best part about capacitive buttons is when there's lag, no vibration feedback, and the texture is coarse like a regular button but has no give so the whole car feels both fake and broken.
I semi-recently got the "privilege" of driving a newer GLC mercedes. The whole console button bar was in fact a row of capacitive touch points mounted on a single movable button switch. And yes, I was able to feel it shift and move around in directions it should not be shifting and moving around in. Damn thing fels like it was going to break. The millennial-style raw-wood look dash also rattled in a grating way if you tapped it. Only thing I liked was the AC vents, they were nice and clicky when moved around
