Am I being unfair or are none of these things physically controllable on this car?

Glad I own a Tesla. Just hold the park button and it will override any acceleration and just slam on the brakes no matter what the situation.

i'm just guessing here but i would think those would be the first things he would have tried to do, at least turning the wheel and pressing the brake. this may have been going on for miles before the guy started taking the video. in an EV where everything is done by wire and fed through a dozen computers, i'm sure you'd pretty quickly realize the shit's disconnected and start praying yourself.

You can have -by wire systems if they're backed by redundancy. But that's good design and cost extra. Another reason I refuse to use an EV.

I just can't adjust to how fake a lot of these videos look these days.
I'm not saying I believe it's fake, but there are so many little things like the 4runner and the tanker truck that pass after about 10 secs in or the lack sound from all the scraping and crashing.
Probably caused by various beauty filters and stabilisation, but it seems so uncanny to me

that is true only to some extent, most if not all ebrake equiped cars have an emergency mode integrated into the ebrake, that is if you pull it and hold it for couple of seconds it will apply all the brakes no matter what speed you are going.

My guess is this car has crashed before this footage begins to roll. The crash caused some computer glitch that made the car keep going on “self drive” or smart cruise control but it was missing a wheel and the screen wasn’t working anymore.

With this much torque, manually actuating the brakes will glaze them and fade almost immediately.
