The Mustang has looked like NPC traffic for most of its history. After the 2nd gen, they stopped looking like muscle cars and started looking like every other car on the road during their respective eras.
The S197 is the one time Mustangs looked cool again. Before them, the SN95 looked like crown vics, and after them, the S550 looked like a ford fusion.

This is one of the dumber posts I've seen in awhile. The Mustang II styling was hardly removed from the 1st gen and the SN95 ditched the euro look of the Foxbody and also returned to 1st gen proportions and styling cues.
