You are not a real racer if you've never crashed, if you drive at 10/10ths or 9/10s you WILL crash.

lol dude you're a slow fucking faggot stop pretending your hpde time attack shit is racing, it's not and never will be.
if you only "go wide" you were going too slow to be relevant to begin with and your "101%" is more like 75%.

european ricing follows supertouring style which has tucked wheels. american style has poked wheels and short fenders. japanese has poked wheels with wide fenders due to their road regulations requiring all tires be entirely covered by fender.
also iirc in many places like germoney spacers or wider wheels are illegal or require tuv certification so a lot of people just didn't do it.

Agreed. Crashing is to racing, what unintentional discharges are to tactical shooting training/competition, and what shitting your pants is to long distance running. You don't want it to happen, and it's embarrassing, and people in the sport tend to downplay it to outsiders, but everyone with some experience knows that it's going to happen to you eventually, and, if it doesn't happen to you, it's because you're not pushing yourself hard enough.

PROTIP: if you own a car over a year without negligent crashing it at least once, you aren’t handling it enough. Crashes are a natural part of handling cars, just like tweaking your back is part of weightlifting and negligent discharges are part of gun ownership. I crash several times a year because I actually HANDLE and know how to USE my cars. It makes me a better car handler and pro racer, and it’s a small part of the price you pay in the sheepdog lifestyle Simple fact is, the “safety mentality” will build mental blocks in your head that will get you killed. You need to be comfortable putting your fingers on the wheel and pointing the car wherever you want no matter the time, place, or status of the transmission. Taking time to check whether the car is loaded whenever you sit in one will serve to make you hesitate in a personal ego defense scenario. You fucking safety idiots are going to get people killed all because of this fucking “crash” shaming. Cars are inherently dangerous, you need to accept it.

In a closed wheel car:
>make slight contact
>body is scraped up, oh well
In an open wheel car:
>make slight contact
>both cars explode instantly, killing both drivers
Note NASCAR vs F1 crashes

If you're only doing qualifying or fastest laps, crashes are quite rare among all forms of racing assuming you're not racing literal beginners. Also F1 tracks have fuck-all in terms of runoff areas compared to most recreational tracks and professional drivers drive for multiple hours three days a week compared to regular enthusiasts who go once every 1-3 months.
Anonymous No.28578165 [Report]
