Also it doesn't help that your housing is literal commieblocks that pack in thousands of people into the smallest footprint by making the commieblock a 10-20 story building. For a large country like Egypt that has plenty of space the idea solution is to spread shit out, not pack it in. packing it in = bottleneck = bad. If you're going to pack people in like sardines in commieblocks then you need to spread businesses out around them so that all of those people don't have to funnel into specific parts of town to get shit. This is why most european cities aren't that bad because their businesses are spread throughout eliminating the need for people to actually have to leave a 1mi radius of their home for most day-to-day needs. The exception to this is jobs which usually have the issue of my first point.

Adding more lanes just invites more traffic. Preferring bicycles and electric scooters in dense areas is the best idea as long you have proper adjacent infrastructure set up. And motorcycles are the next best thing as long as roads are built safe and general driving culture around is good. Aaand that's assuming you're not a pussy.
