Best scooter for city travel?
I live in Memphis, and need a vehicle to get to college and work in. I decided I'd like to use a motorized bike-style scooter. What's a good scooter (preferably with good gas mileage lol) that I can look into?

Get a surron or talaria or something, join the rideout packs on your commute. Charge at work for free. You're talking about Memphis so I'd avoid an easily stolen e bike

Chink scoots are not that bad. Just check the valve clearance and choose one with less electronics (vacuum fuel pump, analog dash, etc.)and you have less issues. Oil maintenance is a must on these because they have no traditional filter, just a mesh screen.

Kymco a best
Genuine is too

Jap scoots can be pricy but they have better options. Can't go wrong with a mini moto, either.

E-biles can be fun too and I'm tired of pretending they aren't.

A bike won't cut it, most of our roads don't have bike lanes and drivers are incredibly hostile to cyclists around here.

Just buy a $1000 Chinese scooter. They're reliable enough if you're just driving around a city not going on cross country trips. I have this "Tank" scooter with 4000 miles I've just been driving around NYC for years. If you live in Memphis a Chinese scooter is less of a target for the riff raff to steal.

Is it true that if you get a 50cc you don’t even need a license or insurance?

Are these things easy to steal if you for example live in a city of niggers?

I wanna cruise around the city commuting to normal work and slowly delivering DoorDash on a 50cc. Can this be done or am I just gonna walk out of work with my scooter disappeared?

yes.
Performance wise they are slightly superior to electric scooters.

Buy something with a bigger gas tank, that cub only has a 3.7 litre tank, even if it supposedly does 200 kilometers per tank, I'd honestly invest in something bigger to cut time on refills.
Probably a monkey would be a better pick, although that is completely manual compared to this that you only have to click the gear lever.

They had a 600 euros discount here on the adv 350 for almost all year since the 2025 model released, they most probably don't sell too many units, and most probably they don't see the point on small engine bikes in a country where a literal mentally handicapped retard can get a driving license and drive a 10 ton truck and carry his stash of 10 assault rifles.

Honestly speaking, what's even the point of a suv scooter?
These things are barely just a couple centimeters taller from the ground than a regular scooter, and it isn't even able to get into the mud anyways.
Plus, they probably think that since the A2 shit doesn't exist, people would pivot into the better x-adv.

Honda Nova Sonic 125 (from Southeast Asian market).
I have no idea if this can be imported simply or requires Grey import bullshit.
>The Sonic is fitted with the European CBR125R and Indonesian CS1 4-stroke engine. It was adapted to liquid cooling due to hotter weather conditions. The single-cylinder engine redlines at 10,900 rpm

Do you want to die? You need a car with central locking that isnt a dodge charger or g35. Memphis nogs will kill you in cold blood at a stoplight for no other reason than to steal your charger or g35.

This person knows Memphrica.
Memphis ain’t California or even Florida, if you’re anywhere near the loop you will get killed pretending an e-bike is something you can commute around on.
I commuted from the far eastern suburbs for 10 yrs and can count on 1 hand the number of motorcycles I saw in 40/240 traffic.
Just get a lease on the cheapest shitbox you can find, use uber or ride a bike on campus but you’re gonna die commuting on an e-bike.

That's not really a scooter, it's an underbone motorcycle. If OP wants an actual bike with a clutch, shifter, etc. he'd be better off looking at small-displacement options that are available in the US like the XR150 or something.

Avoid small 125cc ones if you're using highway, they are too slow to get you out of trouble and you might not even keep up properly.
