i need a reliable car to track on the weekends.
>i have a driver's license but i commute via train as a dirtpoorfag, biding my time until i saved enough money to buy a car.
>i weekly rental karts but i'm thinking of giving that up since i know i'm too old (24) to get into the karting scene seriously. a sports car scene would be much more suitable.
>i'm in the tropical country (Thailand), so component degradation is a real concern; a 10yo car in the US would only survive 5y maximum with minimal servicing here. this narrows my choices to only German automakers, which is fine because i want a reliable car anyway.
>i have to be able to drive it to the track, practice all the racing techniques with it, and then drive home every weekend.
and i think 987.2 is best given these criteria.
>MT or PDK because obviously. leaning towards PDK though
>go-karting feel (?)
>nice wheel-alignment. precise steering, smooth handling
>stiff chassis and nice suspension, giving me direct feedback for steering force and grip. counterbalancing the power steering dampening; none of that cushioned-into-oblivion """muh comfort""" shit.
>manual/hydraulic everything, none of that typical road-car handholding bs
>readily-sourcable/serviceable parts since it's porsche and with a high production count, as opposed to obscure brands.
>perfect for a poorman's porsche bc cheap as dirt, like me xp, in the used market.
das ist gud? what car would you recommend instead, if any?
