I'll look into an E39 as well I guess, but not really convinced otherwise. I should have mentioned I have a GR86 already, I just wanted something still RWD that we can actually comfortably fit the dogs when we go places.

Well the E39 specifically I have experience with cause I owned one for about 2 years. I really didn't like the driving dynamics of it, you can really feel the lack of multilink in the front, and the rear end never seemed to go where I expected. Engine is pretty great, though the redline is a bit low for a proper sports car. Transmission was fine, not good, not bad. Throttle response was sluggish, pretty big delay in pressing the pedal and actually seeing revs go up. Recirc steering sucks in almost every car I've driven with it, no exception here. Also super heavy (4k), which is fine for a straight line cruiser, awful for track or mountain driving. For what it's worth, I think the E39 is actually the last decent BMW, you'll notice I said post millennium in my original post, but your ass is fucking annoying so I decided to respond anyways

I've considered staying single car virgin and selling the GR upping the budget and going to Golf R, GR Rolla, STI or Type R.

I made a thread a while back on it, ultimately I didn't find any of them really worth their trade offs, the rolla is close, and the Type R really is an amazing car, but I can't get with the looks and FWD.
