Toyota is a predatory company that hates its customers and makes the worst, cheapest cars possible sold to an unassuming public that buys them on some distant promise of reliability and easy maintenance (because they are using 10-20 year old tech).

I thought the current Corolla interior was the worst of any car - but no this is the worst.

that's such a disappointing generation of interior

the high point I think is the late 90s interiors and from like 2017-2021 they had good stuff then they yeeted the buttons and cheapened the materials

So all of the enthusiasts who demanded simpler fewer screens more analogue driver-oriented driving experiences were wrong in demanding this exact setup?

My driver in traffic, this is what people for a decade have been demanding and of course when a company delivers on these autistic demands, the same people cry about it not being nice or luxurious enough.
I don't blame car companies for making "bad" interiors, "bad" cars, or "ugly" cars. Someone demanded it years ago and NPCs are buying them today. You're like a cat that meows at 3am to be let in only to fuck off once the light gets turned on.

Not him, but 20 years ago was 2005. We've hit the point where 10-20 year old tech is still computers and screens, just godawful janky, laggy, poorly-designed ones that are even more frustrating than the typical new car.

OP's pic also isn't at all the analogue experience people want. Not only does it have an infotainment screen, it also has a digital dash, and the car itself is everything people complain about - a tiny, high pressure direct injection turbo motor hooked up to a complicated AWD system, all heavily reliant on computer control.

I don't know where this stupid shit came from to claim people don't want any screens at all.
phone mounts, aftermarket head units, and back before this shit, car GPSs, are/were extremely popular.
The screen takeover is because people wanted screens in their car. Auto manufacturers just went about 10 steps too far with them and started removing analog controls and gauges.

I agree with you, but there's a very vocal minority of people who want to go back to the '80s (or earlier) and make sure to flood every car-related space on the internet with that opinion. It's funny because people will swear by the free market but refuse to believe it's at fault when manufacturers don't make stuff that they personally want, you see it all the time with the crossovers everywhere, the lack of small trucks, etc. too.

Did you get your theoretical math degree from MIT? Who cares if 20 year old tech is still computers and screens? I'm not sure why nobody told you, but we're not going back to the 1970s where nothing was computer and nothing was screen. Yeah they're imperfect because its tech from 20 years ago but you're comparing that old shit to screens from today, which means a screen from today is pretty darn good, barring european nonsense that makes no sense.
>also isn't at all the analogue experience people want.
Turns out everyone wants infotainment screens. They're just better. CarPlay and AA are superior to EVERYTHING car makers have ever tried in the past. How the fuck else do you want to get your phone to play audio through speakers? Navigate? and do things like display the federally required backup camera? You can't and theres a reason 99.99% of cars come with infotainment screens
>it also has a digital dash
Thats the only point I'll concede, a digital dash with physical needles moving would be better, but very few people who actually buy cars (not jerkoffs on /o/ that spout autistic complaints over shit they can't afford) are willing to buy.

The Corolla interior is not "bad", it's just simple and plain. At worst, you're just not getting what you've paid for, but that's because almost all of the money went into the bespoke engine, drivetrain, and body instead. The most obvious difference in layout is center panel stack: in Mazda vents are on the very top, then HVAC controls, then multimedia. It's retarded because you're going to look at your radio/player the most out of these three, so it should be on top (in other words, closest to where you're supposed to look normally, the road).

GR Corolla doesn't have much sound proofing, the general consensus from actual owners say that this car is very mechanical and you can hear just about everything including the dual mass flywheel which confuses most new owners.
