I hope you guys are ready for Infiniti/Nissan to rectify the only thing keeping their slept on sedan from attaining Godhood.

Needs to drop the turbochargers, become a performance hybrid with a larger displacement naturally aspirated 6 cylinder and offer dual clutch and manual tranny options.

There, a car that has the potential to shit on the S5 and M340i all day.

Yeah that tracks, which is why the RAV4 Hybrid starts at 3,700lbs and the Civic Hybrid at 3,200lbs. Nothing says lightweight like twin turbocharging. I just provided a solution to achieve perfect weight balance and possibly shed a couple pounds and you, unemployed luddite benchracer with 0 grasp of materials science or auto manufacturing, shit all over it.

My only suggestion is give it an 8 cylinder option, say make a V6 NA, twin turbo and V8.

The successor to the GS/GSF is also a damn good idea. I think many people crave an affordable, NA option. The EPA was fucking up NA as a possibility and forcing manufacturers to slap turbos on everything to meet arbitrary emissions and fuel efficiency targets.

the v8 has been offered in the past but never sold well but I agree with this >>28581312 post. people have been craving a simple, well designed car without a bunch of EPA gadgets for a long time. just read any comment section on any announcement of revived namesake cars like prelude and such. If optioned correctly, they could help save the market and their brand. I think they should have NA v6 (no hybrid) with auto or manual option, a middle of the road option with turbo v6 and auto/manual, and a higher tier option for those that want the technology and all the extra stuff. I think that Nissan is so hard up, they should consider this an opportunity to bring the Skyline name to the USA as a sister car to the Q and they can option it like the do the Nissan Skyline v37 chassis in Japan. They sell fairly well over there like that and in australia.

Please don't apply BMW pigfat to this thread about small, Japanese nymphs. Are those BMW hybrids PHEV? That's a battery that's at least 10 kwh vs a typical hybrid's 2 kwh battery pack.

Nissan is so fucked. Their hail marys are a performance large SUV, and now a random manual luxury car? Who is the target audience for these cars? Its not their current market segment of 400 FICO score base model Altima on 90 month loan buyers. And it isn't people cross shopping an M5 with an Infiniti anything.

Its only fags with bears as personalities think a "performance hybrid" is a feasible solution.
>oh yes I'd like to have a hybrid so when i'm not driving fast I can pretend the 28mpg I'm getting is good!
Its really stupid and nobody wants that shit. I see it repeatedly in comments sections on car website articles, and its regularly posted on /o/ as if its a good automotive idea. Its moronic and has zero purpose or benefit.

Nissan has proven they can do a proper hybrid. They build the most efficient one in the world. The real question is can they make a PERFORMANCE hybrid that's quick and fun to drive?

>it isn't people cross shopping an M5 with an Infiniti anything
Probably competing with the Integra type S and capitalizing on the hole with G70, TLX, and IS 500 will leave after this year. Honestly, if this does get made, it'll be more of a PR stunt so people don't think Infiniti is just an old mom SUV brand (which it is right now)
>now a random manual luxury car?
All having a manual option does for them is being mentioned by automotive news outlet as a big deal so it gives them "legitimatecy" as a sports car. It'll be in those yearly "Cars that you can buy in a manual transmission" articles

I guess we'll see if X-Trail Nismo is any good but it bases its drivetrain on the Ariya Nismo so I guess it'd be similar in driving dynamics. I always wished we get more random Nismo in the states. I don't care if it dilutes the branding, I think it's neat. Though, I do want them to put in actual upgrades, but they don't have to go ham for them for me to think they're neat like the Juke Nismo RS and its slight hp bump and minor suspension tweaks

Are you implying Nissan lacks the technology? In one paragraph or less, explain why Nissan can't build a RWD hybrid with a NA 3.7L V6, weighing no more than the current pig fattest ever Z car with both a manual and quick shifting auto option?

I don't give a fuck about efficiency, you stupid faggot nigger. I care about instantaneous torque without DISGUSTING muffled turbo noises. It's possible to achieve both with a performance hybrid, but you're an emotional bitch that isn't ready for this conversation.

If it's what I think it is, which is the 400 hp VR30 from Red Sport and Z, but with RWD and manual, than it'll likely be positioned against the M340i

I'm cynical as fuck and just see this as Nissan aping BMW who are slapping M badges on everything to cash in. Nissan needs a winner, and the bs we're brainstorming in this thread isn't what the public writ large give a fuck about. I want a performance hybrid sedan that doesn't have a disgusting CVT (fuck you Toyota) but my wishlist is brown manual wagon-tier.
