stop trying to meme this into an ae86, it aint going to happen, it's a boring subaru.
>SAUCE??!?!
I owned one for 2 years. It was an underpowered unreliable piece of shit.

Miatas aren't as stiff and not everyone wants a convertible.

the car doesn't have enough power for chassis flex to ever present any kind of problem, it's basically under powered to a degree that it's engine matches its chassis. i literally dusted fags in GT86s with a 2.3L Mazda3 5MT. the main attraction of the GT86 is that it's a nice looking coupe with a manual tranny and peppy engine, it's not fast or "trackable" in any form from Toyota.

I thought the main appeal was rwd. Who cares about coupe or not. Nobody buys coupes anyway numberwise. 4 doors.

>the car doesn't have enough power for chassis flex
That's not the real concern here I think. The car can feel floppy in a corner at 35mph, just go drive an 80s or older convertible.

is that why I always see lots of 86s and brzs on track but not mazda3s?
Anonymous No.28583845 >>28583874 >>28584281
>>28583531
not enough power to make a difference, even if it was FWD the engine is too weak to produce any noticeable torque steer.
>>28583537
change suspension, this will solve any wobble or slop in turns.
>>28583665
well let's be honest you don't see a lot of BRZs or 86s on the track, you see a handful at most. and the reason you don't see more Mazdas is because Miatas are far more trackable, and failing that MazdaSpeed3s were an enthusiast's choice until the DISI turbo engines threw rods after people re-tuned them.

I can take my F150 to the track and drive it in circles, doesn't make it "trackable". please don't take it personally, I think 86's are cool cars and a fair heir to the Celica throne, but lets not kid ourselves about what all of those cars are at the end of the day.

You're just talking out of your ass. What even is "trackable" to you. You get an oil cooler and catch can and a .5L overfill and you're good.

GT86s are some of the most popularly modified track cars, it's a great chassis and there are full assembly engine swap kits ready to buy for K and LS motors.
