Americans hate BMWs and German cars in general
So I have been watching YouTube cars shorts and old American mechanics (40+) seem to all have one thing in common - they all hate German cars and love Toyotas. For example they said that the B58 engine on 340i BMWs is bad and unreliable even though that world-renowned engineers often rank it as the best car engine currently. Is the hate justified or German cars are way too overhated by these old farts?

bmw has a factory in usa where they take the fine german engineering, defile it by greasy burger stained hands and have it assembled by m*xicans and n*ggers.
then they blame germany for it.

If you buy a German car with a VIN that starts with anything other than W, you have only yourself to blame.

Toyota didn’t even adopt 4 pt suspension on the rear axel of their cars until 2018 and I’m not even sure it’s on the whole line up yet. Please: kys for even comparing

Americans are spoiled by having many big comfy cars around with reasonable displacement engines that last hundreds of thousands of miles with basic maintenance and lots of abuse available cheaply for most of their lives. It's understandable that we kvetch about teeny 2-3 liter engines that can't tow, need meticulous maintenance to still fail shortly out of warranty, and they ask a premium price for.

>teeny 2-3 liter engines that can't tow
Agreed with the rest, but that is just skill issue and/or the driver's physical form putting excess strain on the engine.
People around here tow boats and trailers with 1.4 L engines and worse.

How many planes have been B58 swapped? German reliability is being reliable after being meticulously maintained and having wear parts like crank bearings getting replaced with every oil change. American reliability is being reliable after a life of abuse and neglect.

Towing a 5k lb load at 80mph even on flat ground is going to take a lot more than what a little 2l engine can realistically put out. That's not even considering the high altitude mountain passes we have to tow up and over.

Multiple Chinese factory owners who tried to expand to the US have unironically said that American fingers are too fat for most precision manufacturing and it's impossible to find people who are not high on drugs half the time.
People up here in leafland unironically track ships coming into the port of Vancouver to ensure they get a Tesla made in China and not one made by retarded shartistanis.

Putting car engines into airplanes is typically a bad idea, but the only decent one is a mercedes OM-2 diesel in the Diamon airplanes. LS works, but the argument against it is solid for most airframes. A lycoming is always a solid option. Look at that output side crank bearing size.

Wewelsburg. Germans bind old warrior spirits to their cars. If the spirit finds you unworthy, your car will then produce very expensive failures until you sell it to someone who will be also judged. This continues until a worthy owner.

Not me. I am a heavy equipment diesel mechanic, car mechanics are weak faggots who think anything other than changing the oil is hard. I drive Ford superduty trucks for towing and BMW cars for around town bullshit.
I fucking love BMW, they are nice to switch to after driving a large pickup all week. It's fun to drive them in the mountains, put them into corners hard and keep accelerating.
I like older bmw cars though, like mid 2000s, haven't really driven the new ones yet.
