5000 lbs towing and 1500 lbs payload which is better than every midsize pickup truck (payload). After 2022 they changed the frame so only the front is unibody and the back is a frame with the body on top so if you get hit they can just replace the pannels.

Something nocar retards in this overcompensating board don't understand is that this truck is more capable than a lot of other "real trucks" out there, especially with that amazing AWD system.

The problem with the Ridgeline is the lack of configurations that you can get with other midsize trucks (Tacoma, Frontier) like a CCLB or KCLB. You can also get stripdowns of any other truck for much cheaper than a Ridgeline (albeit with 2wd only) if you order them that way. My understanding is that there are no "base" models of the Ridgeline, it's basically a Pilot with a facelift and bed so every single one has to have the same tech and gimmicks that a Pilot would have and they just aren't reasonably priced.

In what way? I have a 2015 f150 as the family sedan and it's fine. Ride and handling are plenty comfy, fits in most parking decks/spots, hasn't needed much in the way of repairs aside from normal maintenance (at 265k, besides fluid/filters/rubber/brakes/plugs - all of which were I considered reasonable - it needed a water pump and a belt tensioner.)
F150 is far roomier and much more capable, while being close enough to make little difference on fuel economy. I think your dad just wanted a newer car and did some mental gymnastics to justify it. Or he had a difference experience than me.
