I'm turboing my shitbox. It doesn't have an ECU, but this wastegate (Chevrolet cruze j400 1.4) is electronically actuated. How do I hook it up to an Arduino? It also has a temperature sensor and MAP sensor

look into the megasquirt family, I don't think an arduino has all the necessary i/o and software out of the box

Can you build an adapter to just run a manual spring wastegate?

Do some reading on Speeduino. Pretty sure it has boost control capability.

Will it go off all the time with you driving it, OP?

thats a pretty small turbo anon.you should match the turbo to your engine. too small and it will just blow hot air at high rpm and the power will fall of early. too large of a turbo and you wont spool until way up in the rev range. you want linear power across the range. speedduino like other anons have mentioned

for homebrew turbo setups always err on the bigger side - easier to keep it safe if the boost comes in later.

undrivable lag unless you are driving in a straight line. Dont forget that you need to vent crank case pressure OP

There is a whole middle ground between T88 and Chevy Cruze turbo anon. It could be as simple as choosing a turbo which spools after 3k in most gears.

get a mega or microsquirt if you're on a budget but still want to diy a good portion. trust me, this isn't a rabbit hole you want to go down if you want a finished project for your efforts. the squirt ecus are highly documented.

Seems easy tho. Analog input from map, analog output for solenoid, plus a couple transistors to actually actuate it
