Camaro rides on a state of the art luxury car platform. it is not comparable to any muscle or pony car. its more comparable to something like an M3.

This question has probably been answered a million times, but I honestly don’t know the answer.
>If you realize driving a cheap but decent car is 0% fun and 100% still just a chore taking you from point A to point B (Uber, a Corolla or riding the bus is on par), will a more expensive sports car actually make any difference or will the fun/chore ratio stay the same?
Let’s say a Swift Sport/Fiesta ST compared to a 911/M3/Corvette.
Anonymous No.28593257
>>28593212
I’d say a Fiesta ST or i20N and to a lesser degree Swift Sport are pretty damn fun for daily driving.
For me personally, what made driving feel like a chore after 2 decades of driving was the manual tranny.
Driving with flappy paddles is comfy and fun. Also, the M3 is a glorified commuter. Not very sporty feeling at all

Having just upgraded from a ~80hp shitbox to a 220hp less shit box, the more powerful car is far more convenient in traffic, but the shitbox was actually more enjoyable to drive.
I will die on this hill, and it's possibly the most unpopular opinion you can have on /o/, but fast cars with boatloads of grip are not actually fun on public roads. On tracks or on a closed-off road, sure, but not when there's traffic around.
Anonymous No.28593476

Doubt that. Convertibles require more thought and maintenance, things women are not really known for.
Anonymous No.28593480
>>28593212
Start with the reason such drive is a chore.
If it's a straight highway with traffic jams before it and after, you need a comfy car not a sporty one.

Yes. It's AWD. It's for navigation/endurance rally raids more than serious racing. I'm going to do a one day rally on shitty local roads / tractor paths in a few weeks and a two and a half week rally in Africa early next year.

I've seen a few posts from people that changed from V8 Commodores or Falcons to Swift Sports (or other hatches) and them saying that it's far more fun to drive as a daily car because it's not a big barge. You can actually take street corners and shit full send, hammer the throttle full force with good (enough) acceleration without breaking speed limits, and without drinking assloads of fuel

Yes, 175hp (142hp at the wheels) 288nm (250nm) at the wheels. Got a bigger intercooler aswell because my stock one got damaged after hitting a wallaby

Better power to weight ratio than an equivalent year WRX now (stock of course) lol. I love that they kept shit simple and just made the car as light as possible, feels very much like older hot hatchs in that way, less fancy tech and just less weight

I'd say the roads and traffic your driving in play the biggest factor.
Personnaly whenever i've got a 7am start for work driving and from work is much more enjoyable as i'm dealing with reduced traffic and can enjoy roundabouts and corners of my drive more, and i can enjoy driving either my pulsar or 350gt, but i'll generally have more fun in my 350gt with the increased HP to be a dickhead around the roundabouts. Compare that to when i'm starting at 9am and dealing with much higher traffic and theres few times to enjoy my drive i'll stick with my pulsar as it's a bit more comfy seat wise and to be honest i feel like i'm not wasting the use of my car.

This. My favorite car I’ve owned was a β€˜92 Civic and a β€˜95 integra (basically the same car). It was so much fun revving the shit out of them just to keep up with regular traffic. Back in the 70’s there was a famous NFL player who dailyed a beetle for the same reason.

IMO it is, let me answer from motorcycle perspective. A commute can be done on a scooter and nice bike, on scoot its gonna feel like a chore, but a nice bike, going back home, highway pulls. It will be fun, atleast for a while. I used to look forward to late night runs.

I daily my 911 and it is lots of fun. Had a 2002 Corolla for 12 years and driving sucked. Driving was better with a sports sedan when I got it. 911 is best though. Fall/spring commute home kinda sucks with the school traffic but it's only one road for 10 minutes then it's clear sailing and fun again. Hardly any traffic in the morning. Id probably hate it if I spent an hour in traffic though
