>>28595148 (OP) I got an unclapped one of these in June last year and have already had to:
- replace fuel pump (car died in garage)
- replace front suspension bushings
- replace brake rotors and pads
- fix leaky sump
- repair electronic headrests
- repair seat twist
- replace entire cooling system (radiator, thermostat, clutch fan etc) when plastic radiator exploded and left me on side of mountain
- Cabin filter
- Do paint correction
- Spark plugs
Car is now weeping from rocker cover and I will have to do that this weekend.
They are pretty robust but the are 30+ years old now. Mine is an M50 and is fundamentally reliable but auxiliary stuff fails. The V8s can be more problematic. These were luxury cars and should be treated as such from a maintenance standpoint. The difference is you can work on them yourself unlike new cars.
