This was a strong contender vs a new CTR for me. I would never buy either car used - if I bought used, I would get something VERY used and prepare to wrench again. I also don't understand this car used - mainly because it's heavy and will have costly reliability issues.

With that said - legit question on bucket seats - I don't know. CTR has Recaro buckets that have lumbar support, don't know for M2.

It's probably my #1 option to upgrade, but:
> can't stomach depreciation
> want a manual, this is a shit manual
> start wondering about a 718 at that point (not really though, since it's a completely different price point)

The thing is basically a Mustang GT unless you want the BMW status. Not sure if the rant helps, but basically it's very compromised and I wouldn't recommend it for anyone for whom it isn't a casual purchase (aka you make 300k+)

I owned a g87 and now own an ITS. Would take the ITS any day of the week. Way better gearbox, better steering, better feeling brakes, 600 lbs lighter. Engineering explained has a vid comparing the two. Basically all of the inputs onthe ITS/CTR are better which matter more to me for a street car.

I watched all the vids, I think I basically want an imaginary GR86 for $50,000 with that $20,000 going to a supercharger and a non-shit interior, but that doesn't really exist.

My problems with the CTR:
> fuckhueg, holy fuckhueg shit
> i do want RWD
> I am not happy with the power delivery, turbo a shit
> despite ALL the dickriding, I literally don't feel like the inputs are any better than an 8th gen Si, and that was a huge disappointment to me

Did you ever end up getting a second set of wheels for the summer tires? If yes, link me. I am probably just going to buy a second pair of stock wheels, aftermarket is like $1200 / wheel, shit's absurd.

Also, if you already did pads, how many miles were you at?

Agree with the size of the car, wish it was closer to my old golf r. Haven't changed pads yet or bought winters. Will probably buy a cheap 18' set off tire rack. I guess it's not that the inputs in the car are mindblowing, it's that most of the other competition is so bad and there's limited options .

I also get the FWD thing but for my day to day it doesn't bother me. Powerband with the turbo in the Type S is pretty good imo. I think it has a little more midrange than the CTR from the dynos I've seen.

Supra sounds like the closest thing to what you're looking for but guessing you need backseats.

The options for a non-turbocharged sports car is distressingly small. They're almost confined to exotics now.

Honestly they are great cars, especially once you factor in price, I just always look at the other side.

Supra has its issues too, namely:
> shit visibility - I actually care about this for a daily, it's like a Camaro, almost
> muh BMW engine from a maintenance perspective

The biggest issue for me is cost, supposedly 60 msrp, but I see them going for 75 for the manual. That's a big difference. Also, some Type Rs / ITS are on lots, not so for the Supra. tldr - I don't need the backseats but spending 30k more would be pretty dumb for me financially.

P.S. The ITS looks good as fuck.
