I did it! I got myself a spaghetti mobile
I bought a red Alfa Romeo Giulia Veloce. I have owned a Firebird. I have owned Lexus. I have owned both a FIAT 500 Abarth and a FIAT 124 Spider Abarth. I still have a Jaguar XJ L V8 and after all that, I can confidently say the Alfa has the most insane driving dynamics of anything I have ever been behind the wheel of. It is crazy how good it is. Cant wait to take this thing to the track.

Congrats anon, you're living the dream!
Manual or auto? I think I've heard they sell manual Guilias somewhere, sadly not in my country it seems, which sucks.
Nice to hear Alfas still handle well even after being bought by Stellantis, maybe the future is not so hopeless if it's still good.

money down the toilet + lol poor
also nobody denies the handling + engine are above par - the issue is the interior is crap and the feature content is low - you are getting a fairly barebones vehicle and repairs are of course god knows how expensive

excellent choice. Q2 or Q4? I was an AWD hater before learning about the kino Alfa Q4 system.

absolute kino and feels just like RWD but with bonus traction. like using slicks

It's a good awd system but it's been done by Nissan's ATTESA and BMW's xDrive. Sure they'll be some tuning and mechanical differences plus how they handle on slip detection, but it's all the same principal of rwd first and awd second for traction loss

So like the Nissan ATTESA E-TS? What is your car doing if not trying to accelerate when you put the power down? Even then, ATTESA E-TS lets you oversteer during hard cornering before AWD kicks which makes it feels more like a rwd car.

You don't even need that much for a rear biased awd car. Nissan made the system in a bunch of Infiniti's or Nissan Skylines if you lived in regions that sold them like in the UK or Australia. Enjoy your car man, I actually think they're nice and drive well. I just think blind fanboyism for a system you thought was never done before, was fun to poke at

The interior is fine though? My only complaints are no 360 cam, ventilated seats, and a HUD possibly. I've had mine 4 years and it's been reliable. I use a cjdr/ar dealer so everything is pretty cheap. My BMW broke a ride height sensor first month of ownership.

Nice OP, I made a similar move going for a Jag XE S. I did consider a Veloce, but I love the supercharged 3.0 in the Jag. I get that the interior is egonomically weird but it rides and handles ridiculously well as well as having that fantastic engine.

No, it's on par with a 3 series. I honestly prefer it to a 3 series. I felt like the materials in the Alfa were higher quality, but it's less flashy so arabs like >>28597990 think that means it's worse.
It's way better than the 2-series I owned, and considering those sell for more now, it's a no-brainer if you're ok with an automatic.

The F30 3 Series was totally dependent on options
95% of them have the shitty dakota leather and silver/piano black plastic trim which was terrible. The non-M Sport wheel is fucking awful too.
With the merino leather, wood trim and extended leather dash they're pretty nice.
My XE S interior is a lot better than the basic 3 Series but probably not quite as nice as an individual spec extended leather one. I prefer the XE steering wheel and seats though

That's fair, the XJ is a big old bus. The XE is a very similar setup to the Giulia, a bit heavier and the Alfa is definitely prettier (I don't think the Jag looks bad thoughbeit). The engine was the decider for me, to beat the Jag's engine I'd have needed to go for the Quattroformaggio which I'm too poor to afford.

What do you think about the XF R / supercharged or whatever (500hp version). They're $20k here, but that's still in-between the 2.0t giulia ($8k) and the quadrifoglio ($40k).
>>28598227
Yeah, I think my friend's 3 series was basic bitch, my 2 series had the pleather seats. The giulias here all have the nicer luxo or w/e it's called leather package. So you get the leather dash, most have the nicer seats, etc.

They're quite reliable for a 500hp luxury saloon, at least post-facelift with the updated chain tensioners.
They are getting old though, a minimum 10 year old super saloon is going to need some looking after. XFs are quite prone to minor electrical problems and obviously the engine might be leaky if it hasn't been serviced well.
Anonymous No.28599730

Meant to add they're definitely less scary than an F10 M5 or an RS6 for example, I would trust the XFR to be a lot more reliable than either of those.
