>Only keep it for six months before depression and poverty rape me back into my place as a pooro tax slave with not dreams or aspirations.

Every fill was 140 euros - which Is barely get the week out of.
Insurance was 2,100 euros despite being fucking 27 with a nine year no claims or penalty points.
Road tax was 2,400 fucking euros - that's nearly 50 quid a week.

I simply couldn't afford rent, food and the car, so I had to give it back while my sneery fucking spastic bucket of crabs co-worker sniggered into their Penny's sleeves.

just buy the car you can actually afford bro. i've had mine for 5 years with no problems. i own it outright. it's cheap and easy to repair and insure. i mean granted i'm in america but still, the fuel savings and general reliability massively counterbalance the slightly higher insurance cost over a lesser car.
that fwd nigsan is nothing like a v6 chally. your coworkers all laugh at you if they even think about you at all. with the chally you were somebody. now you're just another poor nig driving an altima after the bank repoed his hellcat. you didn't even make it a year.

I didn't buy a sports car until I was 32 and been married over a decade and honestly? It was for the best. I probably pay for insurance over 6 months what you pay in two months. Sounds like this Europeon is getting dunked on HARD by reality. Unless he wants to eat exclusively at Greggs and become a ketamine dealer, he needs to face facts and not let life go pear shaped again. Never give up on your dream car, that's my message. At the same time, don't let your dream turn into a fuckin' financial nightmare.

the challenger isn't the same thing as a corvette or a 911 thoughbeit, it's a normal automobile that you are meant to drive daily like a mercedes or bmw coupe. to treat it like a specialized sports car is kind of missing the point. it's too big to just "keep" and use when you feel like it and it's not impractical enough to disqualify it from performing utility duty. it is the kind of sports car you buy before you have a family, because it's big enough to start one in.
like when i bought my v6 i wanted a hellcat too, but i did my budget and it was just absolutely not affordable, and it wasn't like the base cost of the thing, i had over 100k to blow, but the maintenance and insurance and wear shit like tires and brakes and gas were just utterly insane. multiple tens of thousands of dollars per year with the mileage i was driving at the time. smiles per gallon in the fucking negatives.

then you look at the v6 and it's the exact same car going like
>"pweeeeeze sir may i have a just single dwop of efanol????"
it goes 500 miles on a tank, is ensurable on an unemployed neet budget, and i can literally find spare parts on the side of the road.

M8 he lives in Eurostan. They have absolutely retarded shit to consider with cost of ownership. Let me regale a tale:

>be me
>work for big international company
>get some lads from Ireland for a few months on work visas as a sort of exchange program
>they're jolly good fun, drink like sailors and are a treat to work with
>people naturally gravitate towards them and want to learn about life over there, vice versa
>a few co-workers have V8 Camaros, Mustangs etc
>doesn't take but two days after they arrive for them to be losing their shit riding shotgun in American muscle, something totally novel for them
The fastest shit they'd sat in back home was turbo 4 pot shite, one of them said a VW GTI was considered a goddamn rocket in Ireland.

so that means it's okay for them to be fiscally retarded and buy cars they have no hope of affording just to larp for 6 months instead of the variants actually intended for their financial situation that they could keep forever?
not hating on people fucking around and finding out but it's really comical to see europeans eat their words.
you can own a sports car whenever or wherever you want it, just has to be a practical and pragmatic choice and suitable for your life instead of some statmaxxing hypercar you only buy to flex.

No I don't think that's okay either. My point was if the V8 was the dream for this Eurostani, he's going to sour on the V6 in time, and the idea of it being a compromise will be hard to dispel. That thought is gonna bounce around in his melon. I had the same experience with my 718 Cayman S. Sick car, it punched well above its spec sheet, and I tried to convince myself it was what I really wanted out of a Porsche, but the scream of a flat 6 was what the heart desired. It didn't matter that my Carrera was barely an upgrade in regards to 0-60, 1/4 mile, track times etc. I needed the thrill of that engine noise.

Sometimes the heart beats out the head.

bro he soured his whole life on the v8 and now has to drive a euro altima to the chagrin of his coworkers. nothing more sour than having to drive a 4pot japanese penalty box after owning an american god machine for barely half a year.
and let's be real there's no space in a euro city to wring out the v8. the guy must have been basically idling everywhere and everyone knows hemis hate low-rpm pedestrian work. the penistar was clearly the superior choice.

A bloke at work was telling me how fast his electric Kia Niro is. He was convinced it was basically the Millennium Falcon on wheels.
People think my 3.0 supercharged Jag is a ludicrous ownership prospect. Most brits are convinced that the only reasonable 'big' engine is a 3 litre diesel, if you have an equivalent or bigger petrol engine people will think you're either loaded or totally insane.

holy shit man, i'm glad you like your v6 chally and thats great and all (fr fr ong) but goddam there are a lot of us for whomst getting a muscle car is mostly about the v8 noise (and to some extent the little extras you get from a non-base package car).
I'm 100% appalachian american but i've worked for EU companies in a technical role and the disparity in purchasing power is truly shocking. Shit I'm surprised a eurobr/o/ even *considered* owning an american v8, much less actually had the balls to do it.
Dude's living in the wrong continent that's for sure.
But we all agree that going outside the financial guardrails for a fuckin car is kinda stupid. But sometimes being stupid is just how we learn and adapt so that the next time we do it, we're not so stupid about it.
I wish eurobr/o/'s the best in getting what they want. Every time I was in NL or CH and saw some fuck-huge American vehicle I smiled and raised a toast to whoever had the balls to do that in such restrictive countries. cheers boys!

It honestly depends where in Europe, the UK for instance doesn't have displacement tax but any car before 2017 is taxed on CO2 up to a max of about Β£750 a year. In 2017 it was changed so that cars above a certain price had a luxury car tax applied that had a riser based on CO2 for five years, but reverted to Β£190 a year after that. So a 2018 UKDM Mustang GT is Β£190 a year in tax, not exactly crippling. Insurance tends to be cheaper on Mustangs than on stuff like the BMW M4 as well.
It's entirely feasible to own a big-engined car in the UK, it's just that people have brain worms and think you'll instantly bankrupt yourself doing it.
It's the same brain worm that makes people spend hundreds of pounds a month financing a 1.0 hybrid cuckbox because it's "got good MPG." Literally spending thousands every year to save a tenner when they fill up once every two weeks

Yeah I guess I was also talking about total cost of ownership stuff as well as lifestyle issues. I'll have to find the pic of that f150 platinum supercrew parked canalside in central AMS, right next to a 911 turbo s. You have to really be into the vehicle to try living with something like that in cities and roads that werent built for it.
Fuel I guess isnt even really on the radar as most euros dont even drive long distances, but yeah i admit mostly ignorance on the specifics of cost but clearly money has been spent to import+maintain+insure+compliance fees.

>but goddam there are a lot of us for whomst getting a muscle car is mostly about the v8 noise
ok but when you purchase so far beyond your means you can't even use the engine or hear the noise you are kind of extra fucking retarded, especially when they literally make a variant of the car for that exact bracket of customer.
you can have a v8 in anything, if you really just want "noise" go buy a pickup truck. they're louder and rawer.
the point of a muscle car is its road presence, you drive it like you're swinging a baseball bat. the engine is kind of irrelevant, it just needs to have the torque to haul the mass of the car around and steer with throttle, which a v6 out of a 5000lb jeep is more than capable of doing.
the v6 and v8 have the exact same interior and electronics options. you can have leather and nivomat and the big screen in a v6. i didn't tell the man to "buy an ex-enterprise rental spec base model" i said "go and buy a v6". which is what he should have done, being a european with shit all buying power.

Should've gotten a Corvette.

Relatively good on fuel (10L/100km combined, 6.5l/100KM on the highway)
Light, so road tax is inexpensive (1300kg/3100lbs so it's about 60 eur a month)
Insurance is alright, I pay 80 eur full coverage for mine. If I lived in a village instead of a small city it'd be like 40-50 eur a month
Faster than the challywally
Not as much road "presence" as the chally wally since it's not a nig chariot if that's important to you.
Will turn heads though, like A LOT
You didn't buy a chally for the interior quality so >GM INTERIOR SHIT HAHA doesn't matter.
