They've been mysteriously running an AMG GT3 for the past two years, a car whose profile resembles this new Lexus. As of 2025 the RCF GT3 is a fat tyre eater of a car.

kek. The RC F GT3 was a fat POS since it was homologated back in 2017 saved only by BoP. It was so heavy because the car was overbuilt to support a convertible that was to be added to the lineup that was later cancelled. So teh RC and the race ended up being heavier than it was meant to be.

1) RC F GT3 was already developed and homologated by the time the LC came out.
2) LC wasn't built for FIA GT3 or any sort of racing.
3) Toyota would basically be telling their teams that they wasted time and money to unfuck the RC so soon after the car launched and work on fixing the new car.
4) LC would need its own homologation.
5) Evo updates for old cars is cheaper and easier to get FIA approval.

Its a pretty car and I'm confident Toyota will put out an underwhelming V8 or Turbo I6 and it'll be a $100,000 car that few people buy because it'll be automatic and just be relatively unobtainable for most who actually want one.

BUT if they can release it to be priced right at the Mustang for ~$55k, they'll probably sell more than a Mustang does.
