bugatti tax or something

A Bugatti oil change isn’t just expensive; it’s also time-consuming.

Take the car’s dry-sump oiling system, for example. It comes with 16 different drain plugs, all of which can only be accessed by removing parts of the supercar’s underbody.

It doesn’t end there, either. When it comes time to refill the car with oil and check air filters, mechanics will also have to remove the car’s rear fender liners and rear deck. That’s “have to,” folks. That wouldn’t be so time-consuming if not for the fact that there are way too many bolts on those panels to keep them in place. No wonder this whole process takes around 27 HOURS to complete.

It's predecessor is also small (compare it to those boats in the background in pic rel). The Corvette was America's first sports car, which at the time in the 1950s simply meant small and lightweight. the Corvette wasn't packaged with a V8 at first either and "sporty" basically meant "no roof" as part of weight reduction. So naturally the early Corvettes are small.
Oh and look up what a "corvette" literally is, it's the smallest class of warship in a navy.

>The idea for the 2005 GT was to make a car that isn't shit outside a race track. was that the idea of the GT40? nope.
The mental gymnastics to get to make a point outside the topic at hand Is mind-boggling since LITERALLY NOBODY was calling the boomerbait a worthy successor to the real GT. In that regard the boomerbait was a mockery made to sellout the heritage and was an utter failure of a GT (literally the only GT generation to never win Le Mans lmao).

The original point was adhering to the context of the thread which is the discussion of aesthetic design. Apparently, your head was too far up your own ass to pick up on that. The boomerbait used similar shapes, proportions, and other styling cues that were original to another car that it was obviously trying to evoke. Its only succcess was getting boomers to buy it.

Also, you have no idea about the meaning of the word "or" either. We can only make the determination thar you're either ESL thirdie or just another flunky idiot that needs to go finish his GED.

Not even remotely true even by Ford standards since that was basically the whole point of the 2016 GT.

Wrong. It's nothing like any of the real GTs.

Then why did Ford try to market it as a "GT40" when they unveiled the concept and copy the original car if it was truly meant to be something different?

It's strange, but this is the only place where so-called "enthusiasts" have been using the term, of all places I visit both online and IRL. Never heard it from reviewers either, but I don't watch them much.
>I've seen one IRL and they look pretty striking.
I've seen them (including Stealths) too and it's not that striking, it looks like a typical late 90s sporty blob with lots of plastic. Maybe today they are rare, but in the noughties they were not.

Road presence is simply an all catch term to communicate that a car has a very unique look that is amplified as you notice more details of it when observed in person.

A BMW 850csi for example, is another car like the 3000GT that commands your attention. The sweeping lines, low stance, unbroken door window lines, and elegant curves all wrap into a beautiful package.

When you see a 3k in person, your eyes are pulled to it. It's dimensions are objectively beautiful. Nevermind rarely seeing one, they embody the 90s sports car design ques unabashedly.

It does not. It looks awkwardly disproportionate in real life. The front end seems wider than the rear and it's a surprisingly small car despite what it looks like in pictures.
The GTO/3000GT has more of a presence than the E31 does.

first of all, no it doesn't. second of all, i wasn't really talking about design there. the LFA isn't pretty. not really. it's big selling point is its sound and its development story. it's still a modern bubbly car with small windows and a high belt line. the BRZ is straight up a generic bubble car. it has no redeeming aesthetic quality.

there are simply no aesthetically excellent vehicles made after the 1990s. i probably should have said that. but even in general, there are very few cars anybody will give a single fuck about from the the 00s-20s in a couple of decades, and they're all rare exotic examples anyway. Mass-produced cars for normal people, being aesthetically excellent or desirable in general to collectors in 20 years? There isn't a single one. Not one.

You gonna sit there and say something like a 2003-2007 G35 coupe isn't gonna be a collectible car? The thing is gorgeous, and there's a generation or two of young men that will absolutely have fond memories of doing ignorant shit in their clapped out G who are happy to see one at the classic Jap car show 20 years after the fact, that's what collect-ability is, that's why Core Gen-Y gets down in 90s vehicles even if their a mom vehicle SUV or shitbox Civic that has 91 horsepower and no air conditioning, it is the era in which they lived in and it is extremely beloved to them, that's why you can't see beauty in anything new, it's alien to you, and that's okay... a FWD fuel injected car was alien to the boomers, this is a cycle.

also the problem with what you're writing is that nostalgia isn't being considered here. A GMT400 truck is legitimately an excellent design. It has inherent aesthetic value and people want it, just like a lot of older cars they weren't even alive to see when they were around. If we're just talking about older guys having nostalgia for a car they had when they were a college kid, that's a different thing unrelated to design, though it is valid and there will be random people with money to spend wanting this (ugly) car because it reminds them of being a teenager again or w/e

VQs literally do what they do without a turbski, and they're going to be smooth because 6 cyl and they're why more compact than a sububabub engine which limits the configuration of it, a based 60 degree V6 can be mounted sideways like a high horsepower midsize car if you so desired, a boxer can't do that.

yeah by being nearly twice the capacity for no difference in power.
the boxer being flat also gives the car a lower centre of gravity which is what serious drivers cars require.
regardless, competition has shown that displacement doesn't matter at all, peak power is what matters, so all that "no replacement for displacement" simply doesn't apply.
