The Corvette was America's first sports car, which at the time in the 1950s simply meant small and lightweight. the Corvette wasn't packaged with a V8 at first either and "sporty" basically meant "no roof" as part of weight reduction. first of all, no it doesn't. second of all, i wasn't really talking about design there. the LFA isn't pretty. not really. it's big selling point is its sound and its development story. it's still a modern bubbly car with small windows and a high belt line. the BRZ is straight up a generic bubble car. it has no redeeming aesthetic quality.

there are simply no aesthetically excellent vehicles made after the 1990s. i probably should have said that. but even in general, there are very few cars anybody will give a single fuck about from the the 00s-20s in a couple of decades, and they're all rare exotic examples anyway. Mass-produced cars for normal people, being aesthetically excellent or desirable in general to collectors in 20 years? There isn't a single one. Not one.

also the problem with what you're writing is that nostalgia isn't being considered here. A GMT400 truck is legitimately an excellent design. It has inherent aesthetic value and people want it, just like a lot of older cars they weren't even alive to see when they were around.
