Third world mechanics have generally more experience dealing with 200k miles shitboxes over white dudes. White people drive newish cars so those mechanics never develop the skills of maintaining a WW2 relic on wheels.

The only annoying thing is that the few remaining frame stretchers that exist in the first word, eventualy migrate to only working in higher end OEM(damage repair trade in), or ony do insurance work.
Why?
Because the first don't sell you the service, and the latter only works for the 3-10x insurance markup.

I dislike indians, but this is true, most mechanics and generally repairmen in any other industry in first world have become nothing more than overglofied part installers, example most of them don't want to bother with changing the bushings anymore, if you can buy the the entire part with the bushings. your alternator has gone out, fuck repairing it, buy new etc.

Its a waste of time to try replacing just the bushing or ball joint. You order it and it's 30 thou too big or too small, then you order every fucking mfgs part and theyre identical because God forbid we sacrifice shareholder profits and sell something that's not from the cheapest chinese supplier. You order an OEM part and it's fake or depracated and impossible to find to enable some planed obsolescence scheme. If you wanted to take it apart there's no schematics or support, everyone tells you to fuck yourself when you ask what something does on a pcb. Fuck working in this country dude

I totally understand why it isn't worth doing, because of all the reasons you listed, and there are so many parts manufacturers today, you can buy most parts for cheap now, but it still stand the fact that today repairmen aren't 30% of repairmen from like 30-40 years ago.

Exactly. The repair/replace threshold is usually set not by a technicians skill but by the industry. Engineering and material choice have fucked car mechanics. Ive been watching this happen in my industry for the last 10 years or so being forced to move from cast iron boilers to heat pumps its wild how much less viable repair work is and how much more expensive and wasteful it is to the customer and environment.

You just need to find a quiet shop run by an old white guy. Since my long time mechanic retired I had a hard time finding a good one. We need to learn from these guys. Every one with a scan tool could figure a damn thing out but this wizard and a stethoscope found a loose bolt causing misfire codes to trip for no reason in an hour. Turns out the mexcriment I had install this engine didn't torque the fucking timing pulley correctly.
