You will never be a real R series. You have no I4, you have no V4, you have no revs. You are a commuting roleplayer twisted by tiktok and youtube into a crude mockery of Yamaha's perfection.

All the validation you get is twofaced and halfhearted. Behind your back people mock you. Your parents are disgusted and ashamed of you, your friends laugh at your paralLEL twin performance behind closed doors.

Eventually it'll be too much to bear, you'll buy a rope, tie a noose, put it around your neck, and plunge into the cold abyss. Your parents will find you, heartbroken but relieved that they no longer have to live with the unbearable shame and disappointment. They'll bury you with a headstone marked with your engine name, and every passerby for the rest of eternity will know an MT-07 is buried there.

This is your fate. This is what you chose. There is no turning back.

half boots are far better, and my experience, actually better
ive had a bike land on me 2 times, both times in half boots, both times, a full boot would've held firm, causing a clean snap on my leg, instead the halfboot allowed by leg to bend a little bit more under the bike and walk away with a strain - DOCTORS OPINION

If you can whoolie in mx boots, then racing boots are more than fine enough. Yeah, but his leg is shattered in a zillion pieces, even a bonehead goon like him (or me tbqh) will still have to wait months before squidding the streets after that. He might get on a bike and do really slow speeds just for a quick vid to keep the channel alive, but trust me, the least enjoyable thing imaginable with broken bones is any sort of vibration, and hes got a whole lot of them.

Nah, Husq colors signify clean lines in a urban manner, anything neon does that, doubly so when paired with white, a color that is traditionally only left white if it was to never see anything but clean interiors. Its the sort of color scheme you would use for a futuristic eco city. Incredibly contradictory when paired with the striped down dirt bike, that contradiction results in ugliness.

KTM's orange is a loud color that asks to be looked at, but paired with the black settles things down a notch from looking too racecar-like. H don't think any dirt bike is a pleasure to look at besides the custom stunt sumos, but KTM's is better than Husq.

It’s too late for me anon. The bars, screen, and bags are from the PO, and I honestly find them handy. I cut the screen lower so I’d be buffeted less and I swapped the 3.4gal tank for a 5gal. The sissy bar is there so I can strap stuff to it. About the only thing I’d really change is to pull off the highway pegs, it already has forward controls so I don’t get their existence. The seat I added because the old factory one had a plastic seat pan that was cracking. Kinda tempted to put mid-controls back on it at times, but only if I can find a set cheap.

Racing go karts on a track is fun, i bet it would be fun to home build a street legal go kart and drive that on twisty roads
What always amazes me about motorcycling is how you forget the motorcycle is there
You never forget you’re in a car
But when I’m on a motorcycle, even a motorcycle with a big windshield that’s right there, even while wearing a full face helmet, I get the distinct sensation that I’m flying

I've been go kart racing, but it still sucks in comparison to bikes. The main reason I think is just the fact that bikes you are moving around and every bit of your body is used to direct it, its also always like taming a beast that wants to charge its front wheel to the sky.

Also if you didn't catch it when I posted it before, check this out lmao:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kz_dYmxpXyE

>What always amazes me about motorcycling is how you forget the motorcycle is there
Its kind of the opposite for me, since cars I never have to think about the consequences of too much throttle or braking, or really much of anything. Four wheels gives you so much room for error that its really just braindead in comparison, and the fact you are in a safety box only adds to the lack of consequeses.

But I think I know what you mean by forgetting the cycle is there, because you use all your body to direct and move a bike, it starts to feel like an extension of yourself, rather than a cuckbox you sit in while spinning a wheel around.

/dbt/, I come to you for advice. I love my dr650. I love the torque in 1st gear going up and down steep gravel roads. I love how 5th gear covers 55-90mph no problem. I really love how easy it is to get the tires off or do work on the engine.

What I don't love is how easily a 350lbs bike gets constantly blown around by crosswinds or semi drafts at 80mph here on the highway, along with the constant vibration of a single cylinder engine, which usually makes up 60 minutes of every ride to get to the good stuff. So if Inwanted to trade up for a more highway oriented bike, what options are as relatively easy to keep running myself?

For new production, I'm pretty sure I know the answer is a 2024-2025 Transalp. But is there another dark horse used option that I should look for with relatively low mileage that would be easier for a wrenchlet? Or do I just admit defeat and buy the boring practical Honda?

The bike is basically literally the same with upgraded electronics, every bike company puts in ecu restrictions and huge exhausts to hit the new emissions, knowing full well that everyone just flashes the ecu and replaces the exhaust to get the real power of the machine.

The gixxer 750 is still by far the best bang for your buck bike that exists, being a 750 priced at the 600 price.

Compare that to Yamaha who just straight up dropped the R6 altogether, then put fairings on the MT-07, marketed it as an R series using the legendary reputation of the R6, and now has most of their fleet as CP2 with different dresses. Yeah, I'd say Suzuki won by doing nothing.

i hope this is not really dumb question, but would having bycicle experience help with learning to ride a motorbike? i assume it at least helps with being comfortable with being on two wheels and balacing on that type of platform.

also, would driving manual cars help figure out the clutch and gears of a motorbike? i know the layout is completelly different but at least the idea behind the clutch is pretty much the same afaik

bicycle will help a little with the balance, and 2 wheel sorta stuff yeah, but some of the fundamentals of turning a motorbike are different from turning a bicycle, due to the weights and wheel sizes etc

cars? not really, with a manual car youre doing clutch with foot and gears are up in different directions, on a bike its clutch with your hand gear with your feet, 1 down, 4-5 up (or flipped with a race shifter)
maybe the car speeds would prepare you for riding in traffic, but in a car youre 3-4x the size of what a bike takes up on the road so you probably wont learn much about road position

As it sounds, the clutches are wet with oil, or dry. Basically it allows the clutch to slip, meaning you can ride the clutch out without anywhere near as much wear on it. Until you learn a manual you won't really get what I'm saying, but just know that if you learn manual on a car, you'll have to adjust your habits on a motorcycle.

Shifting with the clutch is actually a lot easier, and probably smoother, the faster you do it. A shift should only take a fraction of a second. You more time you take and the more thought you put into it the more likely you are the fuck up the order of things, they should all be happening almost simultaneously. A clutchless shift and one using the clutch should follow the same motions and take the same amount of time, so once you get the hang of it a clutchless shift is actually easier because you don't even need to bother with the clutch (obviously). The same goes for rev matched downshifts although those take a little more practice to nail.

>>28620450
Super Socos are pretty decent, just note that with electric bikes you won't get the advertised range while also doing the max speed, the faster you go (among other things) the less distance you'll be able to cover. If they don't mention it then you can generally assume the advertised range is at speeds 30mph and below, think riding around a city centre with a lot of traffic. Also for charging speeds that's going to be from 0 to 100% which you will rarely do in reality (if you do then you got the wrong bike) so most of the time it will be a lot less than that.

>well but i will probably do it wrong and have the rear wheel throttle up abruptly i mean i dont want it to throw me off
Well if you're starting off on a 125 that's never going to happen, you can bounce those things off the rev limiter and drop the clutch in first and you might get the front wheel to come up a couple inches, or get a little squeak from the rear tyre. With a 125 you'll be shifting a lot more too so you'll get plenty of practice in, and shit like pulling away will be more punishing as they're easier to stall and if you're in the wrong gear as you approach a hill you'll slow down a lot more.

>but how do i find the optimal speed for range then?
That is a very difficult question, there's no simple math like if you go twice as fast you'll do half the distance. If you were to graph it out it wouldn't be a straight line because the faster you go the more impact air resistance has. Because of that you can also significantly increase your range by fitting a windscreen and tucking behind it, although perhaps less beneficial for the sort of speed a Super Soco can reach (I'll typically do it for 70+). Your best bet would just be to have a google around and see what range people are getting from ones that have actually ridden that exact bike.

Hooligan = riding on sidewalks, whoolies, stunts, using curbs as jumps, riding into random parks, exploring abandoned areas. Favorite class of bikes are sumos or stunted sports.
Squid = highway pulls, canyon riding, whoolies (almost always power ones), and usually not wearing gear. Gear is acceptable if speeds are high enough. Favorite bikes are the obvious supersports.

Basically its stunts/fuckery vs speed/idiocy. Although some people call hooligans squids, and there is some overlap between groups sometimes, such as Gixxerbrah.

I think it's one of the nicest LCDs ever put on a bike. The bottom right corner has a higher resolution screen that can display other things.
I feel like TFTs are incredibly lazy and will look so dated in years to come. I just hate the wasted potential of TFTs. They could work as diagnostic menus, you could even update the fuelling map from a TFT (not these dumbass modes and TCs settings, I mean playing with AF ratios and ignition timing) but instead their 10yo android lite hardware stumbles and lags trying to display a grainy animation on startup.
The worst examples are the ones that have a TFT display only to show an animated round clock in a square screen. Just why??? Might as well have had a physical needle. The XSR900 is the worst offender for this.
Meanwhile the hayabusa with it's round needles and screen in-between them probably wins for the nicest execution

No, its just that Aprillia has an extra 100cc, take 10% hp from the Aprilla and you end up at 200, which is right around where the GSXR 1k sits. Aprillia and BMW have the best liter bikes on the market atm, Ducati is overpriced, same with the CBRRRRRRRRSP.

GSXR is still gud for nip standards though, and the best part about them is just that the parts for them are so cheap and abundant. Aprillia is niche in NA, and BMW parts are expensive, especially if you mess up the electronics. So while you get a better deal up front with Aprillia/BMW, over time the Gixxer will be a lot easier to maintain.

>on a revzilla video if that counts for anything
Not really, mostly because they don't swap bikes or do multiple days.Entire video could and probably is just down to skill issue.

Motogp guy vs motogp guy would be more fair, since they would be able to for sure push these bikes to their limit pretty evenly.

Miles don't matter when you're a competent wrench but the one I'm after is 10k miles. Barely anything for those gear driven cams.

>they don't swap bikes
They swap bikes, they swap tyres, they get the suspension setup checked with Ducat, still no win. Breh, they are decently fast guys and they have trouble winning a 20 year old bike is not a good look, when the bike is what, like 2x the price?

>engine was so uninspiring to me
Well the boxer is a different flavor. Its like a 360 p-twin? Like a Ninja 650, whereas a 270 ptwin makes the right noises like a vtwin. If you strictly want the sounds, its AT vs V-Strom 1050. The 1050 is an actual v-twin.

>Peak power comes in at near the redline
thats the mark of a good engine, you're used to riding cuckbikes and singles, things that make peak power off idle and have 0 top end.

Theres not many parts to go wrong on an RC.
Not tryin jinx anything until I'm on the bike title in hand.

Looking at getting a 2016 KTM Superduke
The price is decent but I'm concerned about the quantity of posts online from Indians riding them
Will post my new exhausts next to the ones the previous owner mutilated later
