If you have access to a decent % the interest is fairly small - hardly life ruining for anyone sensible.

I'm paying £3000 extra across 5 years for the convenience of a significantly better, more reliable car that wouldn't have been possible on my cash only budget.

The monthly payment slows down my ability to save a bit and I accept this as the price I'm paying to get the fun, cool, fast thing that I have instead of an older higher mileage subaru outback.

The blower motor went out on my civic, got an OEM one from honda for like $300 swapped it in the parking lot. My sunvisor also finally broke. That was another $110 from the dealer parts department.
