Once you put your life in the hands of sochiro Honda and his clan of 100% quality takumi master assemblers (9000x folded), you don't just go around paying for and putting your life on the line with lesser brands.

You will never be a real R series. You have no I4, you have no V4, you have no revs. You are a commuting roleplayer twisted by tiktok and youtube into a crude mockery of Yamaha's perfection.

All the validation you get is twofaced and halfhearted. Behind your back people mock you. Your parents are disgusted and ashamed of you, your friends laugh at your paralLEL twin performance behind closed doors.

Eventually it'll be too much to bear, you'll buy a rope, tie a noose, put it around your neck, and plunge into the cold abyss. Your parents will find you, heartbroken but relieved that they no longer have to live with the unbearable shame and disappointment. They'll bury you with a headstone marked with your engine name, and every passerby for the rest of eternity will know an MT-07 is buried there.

This is your fate. This is what you chose. There is no turning back.

>They swap bikes, they swap tyres
I did skip off the video after I saw the results, but watched till the end now. Thats fair, however I would still like to see motogp guys do the test, seemed like both of them were scared by the Panigale, when its main feature is its raw power. GP bikes are similar, built not to be super nice in corners, but to absolutely send it in straights. Another good idea would be to let them ride on the Panigale for a month using it on track days too, see if they get more used to it.

Your shorty slip on or aftermarket pipes sound like shit (even in the rare case you had your bike tuned (you didn't)) and is too loud and backfiring constantly and you shouldn't have it on on public roads, by ignoring this fact you are directly harming the entire motorcycle community and the privilege of driving itself.

This applies equally to riders of all bike styles (cruiser, sportbike etc)

These are great for off roading but barely even for around town unless you live in a rural area, I would get run over by Pedro who came illegally from Guatemala in a financed SUV 6 months ago immediately and they only go like 25mph stock, with a 212cc engine swap and torque converter you'll go like 40 or 45 max. But theyre very lightweight and very cheap of course which makes them great on dirt, super easy to pick up if dropped and not a big deal if it does drop, the tires are wide so you can ride over logs and rocks easily unlike my DR650 which is kind of shit for anything other than riding through a field or trail because of the weight and dirt and dual sport bikes arent great for just riding through forests in the northeast.

You're wrong about it being great offroad over logs and shit. It's worse than any dirtbike option since it has no suspension, so you're slapping balls and not getting over anything other than the most mild of hills. Fun on lake beds but even then still bumpy.

Anonymous No.28621236 [Report]
Not actually serious about buying one right now but I see them for like $800-$2200 occasionally and I think about it.
What is up with Super Cubs? They are all like 1964/5's, 80's Passports or some dominican imported a 90's one and niggered it up.
What is the import history on them, they came in early 60's, then like 70's they stopped and got replaced by CT's, then in the like (mid?) 80's they brought them in again, then stopped until the new one?
What's more desirable to actually use, a 60's one, or a Passport era? What would actually be a good deal?
Is there anything more or less desirable, or is it what I would expect with being older and hire displacement being what decides value?
I saw a 50cc one a while ago for like $800 so I could register it as a moped but I already got a 2 stroke that's motor's been apart for like 4 years so I didn't want to get into another one.

it's a surprising amount of people that genuinely believe leaning your body is how you steer the bike, I've seen squids doing 120 down a slight bend in the highway hanging their whole chest off the side
Anonymous No.28621327 [Report]
>>28621323
I mean nothing wrong with leaning off the bike doing a lil street Rossi, leaning off is always good for reducing lean angle, but if your cutting up through traffic weaving around, then you gotta get a faster flick going. The whole "it only takes one Karen changing lanes..." statement becomes much more true if you can't flick hard.

Lower speed traffic weaving would help these guys a lot, or just practicing harder lane changing on open high way instead of wringing the throttle on every straight.

I have a real stupid skill issue problem. I live on a dirt road, and because of its geometry it has some nasty sand traps. I ride a dual sport, CRF250L, with 50/50 tires on this deep, deep sand that has thrown me off about 4 times, now.

My neighbor rides a Harley cruiser, I've never seen him lay it down once in this sand. He runs slicks. What is he doing that I am not? When I see him ride, he looks like he's just riding normally. No attack position, no standing, nothing. The only thing I notice is he does ride particularly slow, maybe jogging speed. This is unintuitive because I've been told, over and over again, that speed is my friend and going slow is the enemy because small problems become big at low speed. What the fuck am I doing wrong? If you're just going to say 'skill issue', yeah I know that's why I'd like to know. I get my ass ejected riding on the pegs in attack position going about 15 mph in second with power on the throttle through these sand traps.

Koguma's supercub is a hand-me-down that had three separate owners who all treated it like shit. It's a plot point that she's the first person who has ever ridden it softly instead of full-out all of the time.

Ok here is my suggestion
either run the tires at 10-15 PSI for the dirt or take them off and get new ones

Trailwings have the moniker 'Deathwings' by new dual sport riders, and maybe the nickname is unjustified, but there's a very good reason why. look at the tire, and look at the sidewalls of the tire. it's a solid, steep drop-off that looks like the grand canyon. what this means is that if you scrape up against any dirt whatsoever or the sand comes up and over the ridge of the tire tread, that dirt is now contacting and supporting smooth tirewall. this will happen all of the time if you lean even a little in dirt or mud. they are notorious for wiping out on wet surfaces because the tire's contact area drops like a rock when you start to lean and eventually, not even very much, it loses the ability to grip at a minor lean on any loose surface and it's less than you expect.

Can you learn to ride on Trailwings? Yeah, millions do. Much like you could learn to ride off-road on a cruiser or a street bike. It's harder, but if you're a new, then you don't need the deck stacked against you any more than it already is. Riding off-road is a tough thing to learn if you aren't doing drills every day. Don't ruin your experience with it over $150 worth of tires.

My advice is to bin/auction them and think real hard about what kind of riding you want to do. If you like the niche Trailwings are made for: 50/50 off-on road, I suggest a good chevron tire that has the tread that goes on the sidewall with teeth, like the Mitas E07. These things kick ass for how I use the bike (Mostly road, but oh look there's a trail). Some will say Dunlops and I'll say those are good too but I don't have experience with them. Others are probably going to say "It's not the tire that makes the rider, git gud retard" and they're right too.

Anyway, are you getting enough soluble fiber in your diet? Non-soluble fiber will make a big chunk of poo, but soluble fiber will form a gel and soften up the poos you make so you're not straining to get it out. Soluble fiber also lowers your LDL (bad) cholesterol, so there is also that benefit.

Probably, yeah. Whatever you ride with the most is what you'll get most used to, and that's what you'll default to when you're faced with an emergency slow down. So think about how long you're planning on having the bike and whether you expect to occasionally ride others.

listen if you're actually serious about this, get a Lifan. These things are actually kind of good. EFI, screws that don't need a shitton of loctite to keep from backing out, brakes, engine, frame that has been made to Honda's specs since Lifan is made from the pieces and parts of Honda's old factories and design specs before they pulled out.

They have a Lifan 150cc scooter, a Lifan 250cc dual sport that I can attest is pretty good for what it is, a 125cc pit bike I haven't seen, even a 250cc Honda Shadow knockoff.

>Am I basically funding a company to steal Honda's designs from the 80s, rebadge them with basic bitch features, and sell it to undercut Honda?

Yes.
But if you wanted to fund Honda, you'd buy a Honda and all of the sticker and stealership markup that comes with that.

A Lifan comes in a crate with a $300 shipping fee with a bill of sale and a title and just requires you to know how to put the handlebars on and give it a fresh oil change.

Would I buy it,not with how much they cost now. But as a curiosity It's more interesting to see something shitty done a bit and pushed to it's limits. I'd road legal mine for shits and giggles to ride to trails if it was built to any decent standard and had brakes that worked.

Everything on a Coleman can be replaced, you can literally buy hemi engines that bolt directly to the frame with no modification. They're the peak shitbike if your plan is to mod it intensively. If you want a Japanese bike pay 4k+ for a cheap jap shitbike you don't need to do anything to.

i really don't get why Japanese manufacturers went full retard in the 00's

>all of our 80s models are still selling like hotcakes
>let's discontinue all of them and consolidate all of these models into a group of a half-dozen low-end models based on which third world factory we're using, and focus entirely on the 10K+ market!!!
>we'll even stop selling bikes at Honder dealers and force them to be sold only at Shady powersports dealerships that gouge the shit out of customers so we can finance everything!!!

>wtf what do you mean all of the factories we shut down kept going and just changed the name? That's copyright infringement!!!

Still not buying chinkshit but it goes to show how fucking stupid the Japanese bike makers have been the last 20 years. They could literally be ruling the world when it comes to low-CC motors if they kept expanding slowly and adding to their existing lineup instead of shutting everything down for a slight profit increase in 2001 and cede the entire market to China.

Suzuki did the same shit with their small economy cars. Who cares if the Swift is the best selling sedan and the Tracker is the best selling SUV of Australia and the US in the late 90s? We can shut the factories down and sell them for peanuts NOW, whoops guess we aren't in those markets anymore and China owns it all lmao

i could rant for a fucking millennia about how shareholders, and likely Chinese stooges, sabotaged every major Japanese brand in a chase for single-quarter profit so they could bail out of the market and hand it to China. I'm sure in 20 years or so there will be an autopsy of these manufacturers that will reveal that China was behind it all, buying board positions for proxies and then voting to do the stupidest shit ever to self-destruct what was once well-oiled machines of industry.

> both the chinese and japanese are bug people who really gives a shit.
Japan used to operate on a culture of shame and pride in their work, or used to. In the 90s when they had their last economic collapse; basically all of that changed and it just became another soulless copy of American Shareholders-first church of big Wall Street line.

When that was the case, they made the best automobiles on the planet. Bar none. It made no sense to not buy a Japanese car in the 80's and 90's or a Japanese motorcycle in the 90's or even 00's.

When they became another jew penny-pinching company shutting down their R&D and relocating factories to every corner of the world to save microyen on production; then they became the same or worse than China. The culture was dead and quality no longer mattered. But there was a time when they were the best and did the most for their customer.

Wouldn't be shocked to learn China is behind that decline, buying out shareholders and putting in their proxies who demanded cost-cutting. It's certainly paid off for them to do it, if it was intentional. Really, board members and CEOs need complete background checks to be allowed to run industry as important as the automotive industry with how much sabotage allowed China to sweep the whole market up.

Everything, aside the frame which I wouldn't trust my ass to given the welds, maybe the 200's are better in that regard but I don't know. Could you upgrade the brakes to be viable on a tiny one at like 35mph the street, maybe if you throw a lot of money at it but I'm not gonna find out.
>>28621775
I'm not comparing them to whatever $4000 chink bike or whatever. These specifically are quintessential chinkshit.
If they leaned into it being a lego toy vehicle and gave one a really solid frame, brakes that worked, some lights a fork not made of EMT and flat bars. Then sold it for as much as a chink scooter it'd be cool to mess around with since it's still at heart a chink bike that uses equipment engines and takes any parts you can find for $5 on amazon and be more worthwhile to register.
>>28621774
No, I mean make it road legal and ride it like a dual sport. I'm basically purposing minimal viable motorcycle that isn't a 3 dui 2 stroker bicycle kit. A motorcycle equivalent to that 50 pound $160 African bicycle designed to be used by people who don't have a word for maintenance.
Would it be retarded, yeah but it would be fun to mess around with if the bones were solid. Imagine the Ruckus modding stuff but not as gay.

He turned to Soichiro Honda , then president of Tokai Seiki Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (now Tokai Seiki ) . Using a homemade automatic cutter, Soichiro reduced production time from one week to 15 minutes. Yoshiichi praised Soichiro as the " Edison of Japan " and appointed him as a special advisor.
