Autobody service
How much would your average autobody shop charge to get this fixed?

This. Better start shopping for another Mazda and use this one as a parts car

Seconding this, imply because the car is too old for insurance to consider. Good news is, your core support looks to be the bolt in type, not the welded in kind. A trip to your local salvage yard for a core support, bumper cover (looks like your tabs are broken on the left side), and possibly a new radiator and condenser if needed, and you could fix it yourself. Even keep your insurance rates from going up.

autobody isn't worth paying for anymore, every place has increased their prices x10 because a vast majority of their work is billed to insurance.

I'm not familiar with cars at all, just posting to hear some opinions on my situation.

My auto insurance is bare-bones policy with Geico. I cant even get a rental from them lol..

Anyway, they autobody shop told me 2 - 2.5 weeks and we have to hear back from Geico to go from there.

Thankfully its still able to drive, i just prefer to not have my car look like shit. I like my little '06 3 (:

Can you humor me on an estimated price you think an autobody shop would charge?
Anonymous No.28660362
At least $1800, probably closer to $3000.
Parts are probably $600 max and thats having them shipped to you (buy the correct color used bumper btw).
This is a good baby step on how to learn to use a wrench and build some confidence.

Depends, $500 is a minimum for anything at all at even the cheapest body shop. It would probably be $2k-3k if I had to guess in a cheaper state at a cheaper shop, and $4k-5k in a more expensive state or more expensive shop. Those are just guesses and other anons can tell me if that sounds reasonable.

assuming you have no rail damage you can probably pick one of these up at a local junkyard for less than $50

As for price, I can't tell without seeing in person. Looking at the damage, I'd say about $1500 minimum at a shop. Lot of undamaged parts, but you'll need a headlight, core support, and likely bumper cover minimum. Add labor costs, and it will go up. Your car is easy to work on before they started adding more shit, so it's an easy afternoon job if you're handy enough. Nothing complex in the least

OP should either develop such skills or start saving for a body shop. That or get used to having a beater.

Then all this is completely irrelevant and time-wasting isnt it?
You're going to take it to the shop, or you wont. And they're going to give you a price that you'll pay, or you wont.
Why are you even asking? It's completely pointless since you cant be bothered to do any of it regardless, and you likely arent capable of doing it anyway.

On the fucking off chance someone here works in an autobody shop, it'd be nice to know what they would charge. Obviously there isnt a universal pricing standard cause location is also important. but i find it interesting enough to start a discussion about it.
Anonymous No.28660976 >>28661545
>>28660956
I told you before earlier, and I'll tell you again. If the only parts damaged are those we see, expect a $1500-$2000 bill. That includes labor costs which a reputable shop will give you an estimate on, when you take the car in for said estimate. There is no definite price because where they buy the parts from, charge per labor hour, plus materials varies from shop to shop.

ty.

It's probably safe to assume that my insurance is going to tell me to kick sand since i was the car behind during the rear end accident.

Thankfully it can still drive, but i prefer to get it fixed, especially that rad support that is cracked.

There's people with the skills to fix these things, and theres people with emergency savings for moments like this that can afford such accidents. Although anything over $2500 is going to sting.. just cause its a 2006 car

The insurance company very well likely total the car because it's so old. If they do, take the lesser check, keep the car, spend the money to fix the vehicle. Insurance companies will total a car for anything over 40% the vehicles current market value. Doesn't mean you'll pay out of pocket for the remainder of the repair, but you could. It's why you get an estimate and decide from there what it's worth to you.

Why is /o/ so fucking retarded now?
This is a nylon radiator support, you can get this shit on amazon for like $100 probably.
This isn't "autobody" it's a fucking plastic part and plastic clips.

I did the bumper, fender, and radiator support on my fiesta it was like $250 and a couple hours.

Hello op, my name is John Bodyshop and I run Jon's Body Shop
I would charge you $4500 usd plus tip to repair your vehicle because you have feminine energy and can't fix it yourself.
I would spend $500 on parts and $200 to pay my employee to do the work. I would spend the profit on dragon dildos. Have a day

this is bad advice because zoom zoom is going to pay a shop $5k to fix it or just drive around with a broken car forever.
If he could get off onlyfans for 5 seconds and go to a junkyard and do it himself it would make sense, but his brain is fried.

Then your cars are 25 years old, or you're looking at the bumper cross member and not the radiator support, which have two separate functions. The only cars I've owned in the last 20 years that have a metal radiator support are a '03 Honda and a '98 BMW.
