Deciding what car to get
I’ve been trying to decide if I should get an older 60-70s car (Cadillac/Continental for example) or a Miata. (or anything with pop-ups) Opinions? Ideas??

I mean, the two have nothing in common except for 4 wheels.
If you want to feel connected to the car and be able to strap it in and take it through the twistes, then the Miata or a Z3. If you want a wallowing boat that smells of unburnt gas, then get an old American piece of shit.

Drive a lot and for long distances? Lincoln Continental MkIV. Drive for shorter distances on curvy roads? Miata

Get the continental. You will command every single parking lot you pull into. That car has so much aura.

What do you actually like about cars, anon? These are two different things.

Cadillac is definitely cooler. Miata is ugly and way too small

Swinging a big old boat through the twisties and yawing through corners is way more fun than being ""connected"" in faggot miata.

This is true. I know a guy with a bright red Continental Mark V that gets endless attention from everybody he encounters. I wouldn’t want to deal with that myself, but some people love the spotlight.
But OP, you need to hone in what you actually want from your next car much more thoroughly before jumping into this. These cars are so fundamentally different they might as well be from different planets.

>I've been deciding whether I want to get two completely different car types
Maybe make up your mind if you want a sports car or a classic luxury car first. But if you want my input you'll be less motivated to speed in a classic Lincoln or Caddy, so, you're less likely to fuck it up.

Go 50/50 sizewise and buy a C3 Corvette.

As other anons have said, it depends on your use case. A 60's/70's cruise liner would absolutely make for a more comfortable daily driver, but older cars require more frequent maintenance, and can also be somewhat fickle in certain environments. Contrary to that, a Miata will start every single time without issue, but they are somewhat less practical, and lack personality in regular driving conditions. Then there's the cost of running - a vintage yacht will no doubt swallow down fuel quicker than your mother does my cum, so there's that to think about, but depending on your region/country/whatever else, there may also be exemptions where you save money; classic car insurance is almost always cheaper than "regular traffic" car insurance, and in my case (UK) I don't need to pay the yearly road tax on my classics, whereas my Miata is nearly £400 a year. There are both so many pros and cons to think about, anon, but one thing I will say is that whatever you choose, modern or vintage, just don't buy something that needs a shit ton of work. You want to spend most of your time driving, not wrenching.
>t. daily both a 60's barge and a Miata, pic rel.
