By having enough manufacturing domestically you're safeguarding against supply-chain warfare. However as you might guess the way it's being done isn't much better than a foreign adversary just cutting us off.

I'm in finance for a large multinational. We baked tariffs into hour pricing as they were announced. Since TACO and most of them have been rolled back, we just announced a price cut and are planning to next year have the smallest annual price hikes in over decade.
But the company is lowering the % of healthcare costs they're paying and eliminated a big portion of our bonuses, so there's that.
