Why aren't these more common?
Do cagers get off on running over animals with their cars or something?

Animals don't always get the point of using those, like deer.
Anonymous No.28667451 [Report] >>28668063
I-78 in NJ has these. The alternative is taking dangerous mountain roads and ACKing when a deer jumps through your windshield.

Those can be pointlessly expensive if animals don't bother using them.
That much bridge (look how wide it is ffs) would be better used for human use elsewhere.

It gets worse, pic rel was built for bats at a cost of £2m and bats don't use them. Why would they? Look at those things.

>A new study published in Frontiers evaluated the effectiveness of wildlife crossings along highway US 93 North in western Montana. To measure effectiveness, the researchers compared animal movements on 15 crossings with similar designs to movements within the surrounding area. They then compared the movement of the crossings against each other. Results found that animals in the study were 146% more likely to use the crossings than to cross at a random location. Results also included that the amount of animals using the different crossings varied based off the location. These results indicate that crossings are effective in connecting wildlife habitats and that location could be more important than design in terms of effectiveness.
looks like animals are smarter than you

That also works for human crossings.

Building such crossings to benefit animals takes empathy which is less and less common the more brown Western nations get.

Why build animal crossings when we can just import more brown animals into our country?

You'd have to be retarded to build a bridge for animals that can fly.

It won't make any difference. Most animals won't use them unless you fence the road. They don't think, they do.

In America the cagers will stop for wildlife and watch a police officer eliminate the problem.

Actually makes sense. They follow established trails. If you build one at a natural trailhead or resource spot it'll be used.

If I was a predator animal I would just hide in the trees near that bridge and wait for the prey to channel through the bottle neck. Easy pickings.

Because animals are still niggers. Literally lack the intelligence to use animal crossings because they only have the instinct to cross the highway NOW.

>How the hell does that attract bat use.
Mu understanding is that it's supposed to look like tree cover to the bat's echo-location, so they fly over it rather than going low over the the road (or being blocked by it entirely). There's absolutely no evidence it works, however, it's basically just another case of the local government somehow wasting well over a million pounds of the taxpayer's money on a handful of wooden logs and some wire netting.

Why? I thought these should always have fencing around the roads to prevent animals from getting on the road and forcing them onto the bridge.

assuming the aminals figure out how to use them, the smarter predators just wait in hiding nearby and ambush anything attempting to cross
