If you're outright replacing the panel with a paint matched new one, then sure. Otherwise it WILL look like shit without taking it to someone with a complete set of tools and professional experience ESPECIALLY if the dent's on a body line

Body damage is either a reminder of a good time or a mark of shame reminding you to drive better in the future and not fuck up your next car

Take it to a shop that does Paintless Dent Repair. That will be the best, cheapest, and fastest way to fix it. It will probably be a couple hundred bucks depending on the damage. If its too severe for PDR you will have to goto a body shop, and they will probably charge $1500+.
