TLDR: Is it worth it to spend more on a "warm" car than a normie-wagon? I won't be getting a normal car and a project/sports car.
Hello anons. I recently had to get rid of my old suzuki swift sport (2007, ZC31) and I'm in need of a new car.
Now, don't fret too much about the details, I live in a geographical zone that's extremely unusual for your average /o/tist, and the car market in my country is extremely fucking weird to most of you. But do know that I have access to a bunch of 10 year old JDM (actual JDM) shitboxes.
I had to sell my car because it was starting to have a bunch of issues, and keeping up with the repairs costed more than the devaluation per year. Even when I did all the work myself.
Now I've recently gotten paid from some investments, and I need a new car, but I don't know if it would be worth it to buy something like the car I used to have, or just get an inexpensive, totally normal, stock people mover? Like an anemic, autotragic corolla.
I'm also offered, for a bit more money short term, and a significant amount of money long term, pic rel. A toyota mark x. JDM equivalent of an Lexus IS250.
Other, more economic options are a Vitz RS (Yaris with some sporty bodykit, still 100hp engine) or a Runx Z Aerotourer, complete with a yamaha 2zz engine pushing a respectable 187 HP.
This would probably be used for my daily commute 6 days a week with maybe a fun drive on sundays.
For context, I'm not exactly swimming in money. I'm still in college but I'm also working in a profitable field on my spare time. But I love cars and driving, it's my second passion only after certain sports. So I'm conflicted.

S650 turbostang has the price and milage of an economy car while also giving the most performance you can get for anything under 40k ameridollars; the next step up in price bracket would be a CTR or 2-series.
Can't give any other recommendations since you're being womanly about what your actual market segment is.

>Still in college
Why not get another Swift Sport? Those Mark Xs are too thirsty for the power they make.

You can enjoy driving any car as long as it doesn't have electric steering or a CVT. Literally anything that isn't a modern cuckbox that tries to isolate you from the road.

OP is a college student, he's not going to drop 40k on a new car, let alone a 4 cylinder muscle car, you gargantuan fucking retard.

Retarded reason to sell your car. First thing you have to ask when considering selling your car is "how much will it cost me to get an equal or better car that's also new enough that it won't just have a bunch of issues to take care of as well?". Unless your current car is a piece of shit the answer is almost always "more than it'll take to fix what I have". Also I dunno what you did to that car, the ZC31S and the M16A engine are supposed to be as bulletproof as they come.

At any rate a Swift Sport is exactly what people like you would normally get recommended, cheap reliable and fun enough, even if the oldest ones on the road are getting pretty long in the tooth. I would get another one or some similar cheap hatchback, if you're still in college you should be looking to spend as little as necessary until you've got your feet well planted.

a mustang is 30k, not 40k, stupid
a decent prius trim would be more expensive
the point being that that 30k car is still better that a lot of other more expensive cars, too
whether it's accessible price, interior space, or not wanting to kill yourself from having to drive a bloodless piece of shit, it covers all the bases for anyone in this market segment

There aren't any other ZC31 for sale right now. Only the ZC32 which is so incredibly ugly. I can't stand them.
>Those Mark Xs are too thirsty for the power they make.
Ugh. And they need 97 RON too. Sucks.
>>28669503
I guess to a degree.
>>28669520
Look, I sold my swift for a jimny, thing is, I underestimated how much my now retired parents were going to need the car. I suggested selling my swift to help them buy the Jimny so they could get it as cheap as possible (without financing). I also ran our of Japanese parts for the ZC31 and the chinese shit failed, specially the rear shocks that costed me an kidney. And you're right, the M16A is a solid fucking unit, and so is the gearbox for the ZC31, but the rest of the car literally was falling to pieces, including the steering and the electricals. Suzuki just isn't as reliable as Toyotas.
>>28669506
This. Even if I wasn't, I won't ever drop 40k on a car, no matter how rich I am. Unless I suddenly become an oil baron overnight and the car is like, an 964 911 with a button that makes emma stone give me a blowjob everytime I press it.

I do miss my fucking swift. But it's gone, and it was going under anyways, fucking thing had 300k kilometers. Half of those driving hard in japan, the rest driving even harder in my shithole country

If you're not able to spend even that much, then you're not "spending more on a "warm" car", and you/OP are fundamentally confused about your situation in reality.

You're completely deviating from the point. I don't live in the USA where you need 10 million dollars to afford groceries and a dental plan.
My question all this time was to ask other car enthusiasts (not LARPing pseudo millionaires) if it a more sporty car is worth it over a simpler car. Think if a Si is worth it over a normal Civic.

That's the funny thing: a civic hybrid is actually faster than an si these days, and both are the same price as a base mustang, which is faster than both.

10000 miles east of that. I don't think Thais can get JDM, neither can Malaysians given that they have their own industry. No idea about indonesia.

But notice that's not the point of anything. You just have no advice and just want to scratch the need to shit on anything not resemble a shitpost in this board.
>>28670189
Get your eyes checked. And this is nothing compared to the rear. The ZC32 looks like a tranner in car form, the 31 was at least more formal enough.
>>28669760
Not available even for import.
>>28670488
Thanks, but actually I think you can import in a lot of yuropoor countries. I know germany is kinda lax about it. That being said, it's just a milder 3/5 series bro.
