TLDR: Is it worth it to spend more on a "warm" car than a normie-wagon? I won't be getting a normal car and a project/sports car.
Hello anons. I recently had to get rid of my old suzuki swift sport (2007, ZC31) and I'm in need of a new car.
Now, don't fret too much about the details, I live in a geographical zone that's extremely unusual for your average /o/tist, and the car market in my country is extremely fucking weird to most of you. But do know that I have access to a bunch of 10 year old JDM (actual JDM) shitboxes.
I had to sell my car because it was starting to have a bunch of issues, and keeping up with the repairs costed more than the devaluation per year. Even when I did all the work myself.
Now I've recently gotten paid from some investments, and I need a new car, but I don't know if it would be worth it to buy something like the car I used to have, or just get an inexpensive, totally normal, stock people mover? Like an anemic, autotragic corolla.
I'm also offered, for a bit more money short term, and a significant amount of money long term, pic rel. A toyota mark x. JDM equivalent of an Lexus IS250.
Other, more economic options are a Vitz RS (Yaris with some sporty bodykit, still 100hp engine) or a Runx Z Aerotourer, complete with a yamaha 2zz engine pushing a respectable 187 HP.
This would probably be used for my daily commute 6 days a week with maybe a fun drive on sundays.
For context, I'm not exactly swimming in money. I'm still in college but I'm also working in a profitable field on my spare time. But I love cars and driving, it's my second passion only after certain sports. So I'm conflicted.
