ask yourself WHY they sell for nothing
go back about a week and we had this discussion with a german who wanted to buy a cfmoto

the after sale (if you get from a "dealer") is non existent
spares, parts and repairs are few and far between
all user manuals are in terrible chinglish

people buy them new on tax incentive schemes
realise theyre shit, and cut their losses, then buy an established western or jap brand instead
dont waste your time getting burned,
theyre just skinsuit companies designed to help china shoehorn into the western market
you'll see the same with indian-made bikes in a few years, now that they own KTM, except the build quality will be even worse

No, used market is dominated by name brands, value is determined by name brand notoriety. Its why Gucci can sell a plain t shirt for $300, despite offering no advantage over any other $10 one.

China is already more advanced than the western world and Japan, its very likely better put together.

just because they have a branch, doesnt mean they'll be useful
sometimes you'll break a niche part of your bike, like a clutch lever
and they'll only replace with brand parts, but that part isnt being produced right now, so you have to wait 2 months for them to batchmake it, then 2 months shipping, so youre without a bike for 4

many such cases

Yeah Insta360 is nice, but more expensive for no really any gain. The actual 360 camera from them is probably worth the insane price, if you want to set up a selfie stick behind you. I didn't really notice a difference between the action 5 over 4 to justify the cost increase, the only thing to note is that the battery on the 5 lasts way longer, but the 5 batteries actually work in the 4, so when you buy an extra battery you can just get the better one as your extra.

>rear tyre
>new drive chain (shit Chinesium Caltric for $40)
>rear sprocket
>new chain tensioners
>new rear brakes (these were a bitch)
>painted the scratches and dents from dropping the bike
>new rear brake lever
It still needs more parts though. Gonna do an LED conversion, gotta tighten the rear brake light spring, probably need to add a little fixaflat to the front tire, gonna swap the front brake pads, and bleed the front brakes. Moreover, I gotta buy a better chain, because this Caltric one rusts insanely fast. Also gonna tune the carb, swap the sparkplugs, and do an oil change before end of year.

She's been in doors exclusively for a week now. I haven't seen the hawks in a while, so hopefully they moved on. I think they did in fact get the other cat with opposable thumbs before I was able to bring him inside and make him my own cat, but at least I was able to save Buttercup. I'm going to ease her back outdoors on Sunday, because I can tell she wants to go back outside. Hopefully, I can let her outside during the day while I'm at work so she can hunt mice, and bring her back inside to feed her at night.

I am a diehard R9 hater, but I have to admit that the mods are looking pretty promising and they seem to be reliable. I will trust Two Wheel Dyno Works on just about everything.
In factory configuration, the R9 is still pretty meh tier. Especially with the cracked frames. However, if Yamaha could make the adjustments and squeeze these numbers out from the factory reliably, it would be a killer platform. Make it so you just need exhaust and tune when you pull it off the showroom floor.

I mean it probably costs more to get an R9 to 140 hp than just buying a brand new off the shelf R1 with 199 hp.

Both look generic and uninspired, so no arguments there either.

That's your clutch smoking itself because you can't shift, NBU (never buying used), GLWS (good luck with sale) and make sure to ask for MSRP (manufacturers suggested retail price) + tip.

Be sure it's the clutch and not just first gear doing first gear things.
Mine does the same thing when I shift into first and hold the clutch in, but only when it's in first. It's basically not a problem.

idk, more importantly though if its not NIB (new in box) you are buying a used motorcycle. just like most consumer products, motorcycles come in a box.

which Bike? it sounds like you have straight-cut gears/some gear wear, in which case a whine at these speeds is common and not worth thinking about. It just rides on the gear a bit.

>put the gas tank under the seat
they used to be like that, but as they got bigger and bike got more complex, it became a hassle
some of the BMWs their tanks in different places, like the F800GT having the tank at the back, and harley put the tank under the seat on the new (2022) nightster they tried a couple years ago, but it was massively inconvenient and people hated it, since it makes you more vulnerable at gas stations if you prefer to stay on your bike to refill
ergonomically it was actually a massive success, but practically its too annoying to deal with

Euro4/Euro5 emission and noise standards
every single bike you buy post about 2010-12, you have to put an aftermarket exhaust on
the manufacturers know this, the customers know this, the dealership knows this, the exhaust makers know this
but the prices dont come down, and even optioning exhaust on the model have to be noise and emissions restricted

I went to look at a 2018 fireblade recently (sue me, I like hoonder, fuck the litrebike "whos the best" arguments, rule of cool) and it had an aftermarket Akrapovic on it, but to buy the bike I had to also accept the dealerships stock Akrapovic(for free), which was euro4 and still connected to the cat, because they didnt want it, and they refused to sell the bike without it
its all a jewish scam

The alps and the dangerous woods is one of the best bikes Honda has ever made and I'm serious. If that's the bike, it's in great shape. you have to be cautious because these bikes are usually bought by people who want to run them into the dirt doing offroad things. That looks like stock footage so be on guard just buying these things off Facebook. They're honders, so you can fix them, but you can easily buy one where the juice isn't worth the squeeze

ergonomically its great, it lets you have a super low centre of gravity
but youre just pumping the gas slightly backwards to the motor
on a full sized bike, youre pumping it against the inertia(?) and usually upwards to the motor, making it costly and cumbersome

the only downside to having the petrol tank so low and between your feet is that it's difficult to get down and take a big sniff of the petrol to get high on the fumes. but with a 'normal' manual motorcycle you can sniff&ride all day.

it's one of two things, either he means your inseam length which varies from person to person. Or he's shitposting and thinks you're going to be gain 10 cm inseam length by "just lifting at the gym bro".

seatconcepts are your friend. Even if you buy the Transalp (I'm the anon that says you should stop arguing with yourself and do it) you should look into a lower seat height. Lowering kit, preload, and triple tree adjustments should be the last things you consider, but are still a possibility.

any bike you wanna take off-road, you have to upgrade the factory skid plate anyway, besides the 2025 models come standard with the skidplate
>bad on offroad
it's more capable for most things that its buyers are capable of, and it's undoubtedly the best in its class for everything else, the 92 hp hornet engine is a future classic
for the extra money something like a v-strom costs, you can upgrade the suspension on the new TA and have a better bike in every way

Gentlemen, it is done. I bought the choppah baby. Fucking dumped it on a left turn in too high of a gear though. carb sputtered out and I gave it too much throttle while turning to keep it from dying, just ended up eating shit. A quick tuck and roll and I was back at it though. I dont know why down shifting feels sketchy. I really gotta figure out the sweet spot.

If I brake, and pull in the clutch and I'm in say 3rd gear, then let the clutch back out while giving it some throttle because "oops I didnt actually need to come to a complete stop" am I just going to eat shit? Please advise, I'd like to continue living.
